    No it’s not a matter of “I ask” it’s the fact that the game genuinely discourages chain pulling on an inexperienced healer because it taxes their MP excessively and you will generally be running between pulls at a lower HP level when they may struggle to keep them up

    Either single pull or double pull but don’t chain pull

    As a healer main in this game for nigh on 14 years all I can say is that I’m tired. My role has been eroded of complexity and expression for 3 expansions. I’ve watched the tanks do my role for me for 2 expansions and my feedback and critiques continue to fall on deaf ears.

    I have no idea who modern healers are designed for but I know now it’s not me. This is the first expansion I’m truly considering dropping the healer role and not returning, so if that was the goal- congratulations I guess

    At the end of the day, is it really too hard for people to wait for the tank to use two AoEs before they move on to the next pull?

    This exactly. I hate it when some DD pulls and then runs in circles around me, always avoiding my AoE - I'm not there to play Catch the Clown.
    And when this happens while I'm healing, I wait until either the aggro is on the tank, or the clown is dead - over the years I had my fair share of heal aggro, so no more for me pls.

    YPYT is cringe and lame. If I'm the healer in that party I'll start fishing for freecure because obviously my job is to just heal and do nothing else :3c That totally would fly proper, I'm sure! If I'm the DPS I'll stop AoEing trash pack so that one beefy dangerous mob will die first uwu.

    Chain pulling essentially forces your party to stay in combat longer than intended. The benefit of exiting combat state is your party will regenerate 10% HP and 600 MP per tick. That's why chain pulling is a doodoo, no matter how you try to pull it off. If you're paired with bad healers and pull this off... well you've essentially made their job even harder. That not going to fly well.

    Kill off whatever you've grouped up first, THEN run to next pack. It's not like you're under time constraint such as solo deep dungeon attempts. That few 10-20 seconds of running to next pack outside combat are free resource.

    YPYT is one of the dumbest things tanks do. The only time a tank should speak up about larger pulls is when their mit and the healer cannot keep up with the incoming damage and this is normally only an issue when leveling through arr dungeons. I've only spoken up once when tanking a dungeon and that was because I was playing drk in an arr dungeon and my mit and the healer couldn't keep up with the damage and the brd who was pulling ahead kept pulling the same packs after 2 wipes.

    Chain pulling essentially forces your party to stay in combat longer than intended. The benefit of exiting combat state is your party will regenerate 10% HP and 600 MP per tick. That's why chain pulling is a doodoo, no matter how you try to pull it off. If you're paired with bad healers and pull this off... well you've essentially made their job even harder.     We are talking about a situation in which dungeons are corridors with a predetermined maximum of mobs that can be taken (2 packs -> bosses -> 2 packs -> repeat). A controlled and extremely simplified and repetitive environment and content, I find it very difficult to think that a healer cannot contain the situation regardless of the expansion the dungeon refers to (provided the tank is still alive, but in many cases is easy manage DPS health for clear however).
