I think I liked it because I survived Unus Annus, and it rang true to that experience. I do understand where you're coming from though; it was beautiful. I think you do get a kind of Everywhere at the End of Time remix of the theme though!

Been a while since I did my lore homework but I think I recall some of these points...
We do actually teleport but it's apparently super rare. They do it in Endwalker. A role quest in Dawntrail pokes fun at our use of this rare magic that we use when we ask for a quest giver to "cover our teleportation costs" and they then look at you with utmost confusion then reply with "Excuse me but... what's Teleportation?"
Phoenix Down's don't bring back the dead they bring you back from the brink of death or from unconsciousness. Same thing for Raise, really. In game lore if we wipe in a dungeon it means we're all knocked out and it's assumed the enemy would then just finish us off, slit the characters throats or eat them etc... Thankfully we have the Echo so any wipe in game is us seeing a failure before it happens. lol
I like the unpainted gunpla/warhammer look more tbh
they told us in the beginning they dont have their aetherytes for long in tural. koana brought them over. so it makes sense for a bunch of tribes living in the countryside to not know about teleportation
which makes some of the aetherytes weird.
same thing as Ishgard , time to "rebuild " DOH/DOL !
eexcept we did.
in EW we and scions praise the Aetheryte teleportation so that we don't need to go through 'that kind' of teleportation over again and there're some few occasions they'd mention WoL will go through via teleportation on our own
I find the derelict environment kind of charming.
A restore project could be based for it for player content to do, just some thoughts....
But I agree, I thought they learned their lesson with Ultimate Thule.
