Absolutely More New Races Please

They cannot even give us proper character options. The stupidity of not being allowed to wear hats aside, there is just no chance that someone can be truly creative in the character editor. Literally why is it when you select a face that you are bound to 4-5 potentially ugly looking eyes and lips instead of having the face determine the shape and then give us all options from across all faces. i.e. a face 4 female Au Ra keeps her forward facing curved horns but otherwise they can get face 1 lips, face 2 eyes and face 3 nose. Do the same example for every single face of every single race and gender and you already open up so much more fine options. Of course some will be near duplicates but they could replace that by simply adding more different options, period. The hair colour selection looks to me like it hasn't been updated since ARR (correct me if I am wrong, it just feels that way), and the lip and tattoo colour selection is downright insulting for the year 2024.

I don't object to adding more races, but finish the last two first.

Maybe in 8.0, for now they need to spend an entire expansion turning glasses and masks into facewear, this will take up years of development.

I'd rather have more added to the existing races- like half-elf ears, the garlean eye, new faces, eyebrow options for highlander males, racial specific viera hairstyles & more hrothgal hairstyles (give them wuk lamats hair)
More head jewels & tattoos.
More than 1 face-paint slot. I'd like to wear eyeshadow & blush.
It's time to update the character creation.

As far as a new race, it'd need to be a small race- all we have are large races except lalas

No thanks, there's very little customization for so many races already. Better work on the existing ones, especially if it's to release the last ones..

We can have both you know. I don't know why fans insist on denying certain things as if we can't have both. We can in time.

I think another small race wouldn't go amiss. Someone in this thread mentioned Burmecians, so having a small rodent-like race would be neat.

That said, I think we should first focus on giving more customization to the current races (including putting hats on Viera and Hrothgar) before committing to a new race. I think people would better appreciate being able to alter the body shape such as having a waist slider, shoulder width slider, hip slider (and the ever requested butt slider with it) as well as separating torso height and leg height. Heck I'd also add a head slider so that the smaller heads of Elezen can be a little bigger. Couple that with more options within the settings we do have such as more face types, eye shapes, mouth shapes, nose shapes, eyebrows, and multiple face paints and I think we'd be good. Also having the muscle slider be universal and actually adding muscle geometry rather than just toning.

I think they're at the breaking point for normal races and maintaining them. They also have hit most of the mainline series races at this point, you'd have to dive into Crystal Chronicles and the ilk next.

Still, I will throw in my request I've had since FFXI: I want to be a Moogle.

I don't want to wear armor, just weapons and hats. Heck, I dont even have to be capable of speech. "Kupo!" is enough for the WoL to get by.

Absolutely not.
We need a total overhaul for the character creator.
Not only do they need to go back and fix hrothgar and viera to make head gear work and allow much more freedom to hrothgar's hair choices, but it's criminal that auri horns are STILL linked to face shape.
We need far more customization options for every race. More faces. More face paints and the ability to use more than one at a time. Better options for muscle definition. Scars. Tattoos. More tails for the races that have them. The fabled butt slider. Body paints, tattoos, and scars. Finger and toenail coloring now they we kinda sort of have them. Better and more facial hair options, including eyebrows. Speaking of... Freakin' eyebrows for highlander males (Shaving eyebrows is a cultural thing, not a genetic trait). And just more race specific customization options in general. There is a lot they can do to improve what we already have before they even consider adding another new race.

They put a lot of resources into making Lalafell sized gear. If they absolutely must make a new race then another diminutive race wouldn't be a bad option. Ivalician Moogles but by a different name wouldn't be a bad concept I guess.
