Not more races, but more faces, eyes, hairs not locked on races, etc. No more races please, it is not necessary at this point. We need them to fix graphics, lightning, jobs, and more.

I object to new races because the last two are still in early access.
MMO's aren't here to fulfil the needs of whatever specific furry/scalie niche someone has. So I say no thanks to adding new races to the game. Not unless the new race is actually something that would fit into FF.I apologize that you have to read another thread about this subject. I feel like I just have to say it. Yoshi P is allowed to add whatever he desires to this game. There is nothing wrong with new races.
Viera and Hrothgar were wonderful additions, but there are still niches that have not been fulfilled in Final Fantasy XIV.
Every single MMO that adds races overtime is not ruined for it. In fact, they are often better for the additions.
We need our community to be cautious, and not just blindly ask for races as a MAIN PRIORITY, because it is true that our character customization needs upgrading. However, there are a lack of other small races than lalafell. The Hrothgar are a furry race, but they don't meet other types bestial aesthetics that some players desire. Not everyone wants to play a huge buff character. A leaner build for a furry style race, would be popular with certain types of players. A bird race would also be popular, there is no avian like race in the game currently. Players have expressed a wish to play as Burmecians, or Ivalice Moogles, it doesn't take much to look at if you just search the forum history.
While the priority should be making improvements to current races for right now, there is no reason that future expansions can't expand on the amount of options. As long as they don't restrict gender ever again.
Viera and Hrothgar aren't even "new". It's literally the Ronso from FFX as hrothgar. They're even named as such on the first where they first appear. Viera have been a part of FF since FFTA, FFTA2, and FF12. Most other races would be more appropriate as an NPC only beast tribe like Bangaa. Qira are a bit too similar to Aura, they just have wings which Square would never add to a race. They can't even deal with ears or tails so the clipping nightmare of wings just never gonna happen. The most I'd expect are the Burmecian but I just don't see a huge demand in players wanting to be a slender beastial rat person in a world with catgirls and bunnygirls.
Personally I'd rather see effort and resources put into the existing races instead. Give us more face options, more customization options, more customization layers (freckles + makeup + tattoo), and make all hats/helms wearable by every race. Butt sliders for all. Muscle sliders for races that don't have them (Who thought Viera didn't deserve muscles WTF). Have the "false nails" thing be part of our actual body model, so I can just pick my nail color and have it effect even the toenails on any boots that show toes. My female Xaela is still wondering why her scales are forced to be the blue color, while the men get to enjoy the much better looking black scales. Why can't I just pick my scale color?
TONS of work to get our own existing races up to par with other games before I start caring about adding someone's personal fursona to the cast of playable races.
They'll have to go to the dollar store for more animal ear headbands, stickers, and rub on tattoos.
Could take about 4-5 years.

As much as I love Freya, I doubt Burmecians would translate well to XIV's art style. IX was very cartoony, and parts of the 7.0 visual updates steer weirdly far into attempted realism.MMO's aren't here to fulfil the needs of whatever specific furry/scalie niche someone has. I vote for no new races, no new jobs.
if they cannot fix WHAT WE HAVE NOW... why add more? what value is to that? wishing on the off chance they "get it right" the first time? highly improbable.
so, fix the released stuff, then I might go for it. as it stands now, I have zero interest in any new races or jobs to be added to the steaming mess that exists now.

Hard disagree. Race are for fulfilling different types of player demographics. That's how you get more players in a game.MMO's aren't here to fulfil the needs of whatever specific furry/scalie niche someone has. So I say no thanks to adding new races to the game. Square should put a pin in new races for awhile. Instead they should....
1: Enhance the character editor with new options. More face types and sliders for different parts of the body. For some races their added features should be decoupled from face selection (mostly looking at Au'ra horns with that comment). Making these changes, and creating even more ways for players to look unique from one another, benefits everyone including the devs- who would then have plenty more assets for keeping NPCs looking unique from each other.
2: Gradually add racial variants to existing armor pieces (specifically hats/helmets). This is mostly aimed at Hrothgar and Viera.
The former of these two points would also benefit any new races created after the hypothetical changes. The latter is more "finish the food your plate".

How about both? I don't know why people think you have to take away new races for that to happen. You can delay them, but they do not need to be taken away.

Do remember Yoshi p say there but no more new races.
