I have to thank Square-Enix for the amazing job they have done recreating Final Fantasy XIV from Scratch. Especially the inclusion of Missing Genders which we petitioned for in good faith. This was proof to us players that the Developers are truly Sympathetic to our requests and that being honest and vocal can pay off with the amazing characters we have who are Female Roegadyn, Male Miqote, and Female Highlanders. Thank You SE, Thank You Community Team, Thank You Yoshi-P.
You're crazy to think you represent a majority. The majority of FFXIV players already quit to play other games...
lol, ^this guy only plays the best and most popular games, like FFXIV

other than Tera, GW none of other will effect this game lol. Also, 2/11 for gW is only PLACE HOLDER no offical date annoncement yethttp://forum.square-enix.com/ffxiv/t...6a-Patch-Notes
When do they expect to revive this game? 2016?

http://www.guildwars2guru.com/forum/...iii-t3862.html
and for Tera, MID 2011 is a joke, it is Japan release date, EU/NA should be at fall or winter more or less
edit : either way, what does the patch 1.16a fix ?

With the amount of fixes left and the rate SE is going, 2016 seems like a lofty goal. I think they could be done by 2020 if they really put their backs into it.http://forum.square-enix.com/ffxiv/t...6a-Patch-Notes

Woot finally some content, interesting quests with cutscenes and story, drastic battle system changes and... wait what is this...*sigh*
The only features are making the mobs give sp like they used to and they're bringing back the old targeting system to backpedal their latest problem.
Uh but at least there's a 8 recipes worth of cook book to be used because I can't wait to press A for 40 minutes to gain half a level to press A in a different rank.
What are they doing?
I guess I'll have to keep playing XI a LONG while at this rate.
Btw are you saying an RPG MMO is competing with racing and FPS games XD well at least that gave me a good laugh. Tera is competition though and IGN mentioned it's monster hunterish so I'll probably play it alongside XIV.

What part of the following quote did you not understand Belgianrofl?http://forum.square-enix.com/ffxiv/t...6a-Patch-Notes
When do they expect to revive this game? 2016?
I would say it's written in pretty basic english. We have already known for more than a week that the 1.16a would have been "minor improvements" (while still quite important i'd say, adjusting targeting isn't such a small thing in a MMO).We were working to release patches 1.16a and 1.17 by the end of March, but now anticipate a delay of one to two weeks. During this time, we will not only be making minor improvements, but also directing our efforts on laying the groundwork for future content.
Despite your petty attempts of feigning surprise and spreading doom and gloom, there's nothing strange in the patch. The number itself (1.16a) indicates a minor patch.
What part of :
...is hard to understand?also directing our efforts on laying the groundwork for future content.
I'm not even an english native speaker, and I can easily grasp the meaning of that producer letter: "no major updates until april, in the meanwhile we're working to prepare those, that you will see in april".
given that 1.16a comes in march. Logic and understanding of basic english would dictate the fairly obvious solution that it won't include major content updates, which is exactly what they are working on. You know, those updates that tend to take time to prepare and test, despite some random internet goers think that they can "easily be completed in a day". Lulz.

I thought it was clear by now that the number patch were the one with content and the "a" patches the one fixing/modifying the previous patch.

It was to most people, don't worry. But some were just looking for an excuse for their daily doom and gloom/SE bashing thread. They just happened to pick a poor one.
TERA US open beta I heard would hit around August. No clue about GW2 release schedule, but it has good hype as well.
Diablo III will be MASSIVE. It will crush the market when it finally does release- everything else will be a ghost town. No matter how good any game is, D3 will command attention from fans for months. I don't care who you are, you are a Diablo fan. I think I might buy some Blizzard stock before then.

so you sir, are wrong
people will play it, sure they will, but games dont become ghost towns because of it, they didnt when d2 hit, or when sc3 hit, or any other game hit
people really give games way too much credit for doing this
also wasnt rift supposed to make every game a ghost town too? looks like no one seemed to care and were all still playing their usual games when it came out too
point is, game releases, while they may have small impacts, do not truely take users away from other games.
