So this is coming up on 2 weeks old, any chance we'll get an update on this soon? I'd really like to start prioritizing things in preparation for 2.0.We know you're all interested in finding out the status of items and equipment, so I wanted to let you know that the team is currently creating a list of items and equipment that will not be obtainable in A Realm Reborn. Please hang tight a bit until it's all created, double-checked, confirmed and posted!
With the 1.0 end looming is there any chance we'll get this list soon? Depending on which items are going away, this could be a very hard list to stock up on in less than two months.We know you're all interested in finding out the status of items and equipment, so I wanted to let you know that the team is currently creating a list of items and equipment that will not be obtainable in A Realm Reborn. Please hang tight a bit until it's all created, double-checked, confirmed and posted!I still don't understand how you kill beginning content so bad when there's still new incoming players who will never know what Eorzea looking like before the catastrophe. ARR seems like a expansion just like "Rise of the Zilart" was for FFxi.
The way I see ARR, it's the present and the old content will be like "Wings of the Goddess" was for FFxi, am I not right? How consistent will the game be for new player who don't even know what's going on or how they got here? The design of the new world I am excited about and can't wait to explore it but is it destroying the past areas(experience) forever?
I remember playing Final Fantasy VI for the first time. The story was became sad/ disastrous in progression. The map changed completely! >.<;
I suppose there's not enough hardware and money to maintain everything so everyone would have the same experience and progression, am I right?
Any thoughts on this subject? ...

This is incorrect, and is probably why it makes no sense to you.
ARR isn't an expansion, it's a complete remake of the game. The Pre-catastrophe stuff was a story created purely to keep the current version players entertained.
To give you an example, ARR will be like FFXI pre-WotG. In XI during that time, you heard about the Crystal War, it shaped events in the game you played, but you never experienced to Crystal War until many, many expansions later.
ARR is the same, in that players will know about the Dalamud event and it will shape the events in the game, but it's not something they will be able to experience. (Except those of us who actually participated in it before 1.0 was brought offline.)
If anything, view 1.0 as an limited time Prequel to A Realm Reborn.
Any news on this list? 2 months to go and I'm starting to /panic!!! as to what I should be focusing my time on!We know you're all interested in finding out the status of items and equipment, so I wanted to let you know that the team is currently creating a list of items and equipment that will not be obtainable in A Realm Reborn. I see, this was probably foreseen to happen. I'm just wondering if there's going to be another time-based expansion to the past(which will be even better then we experienced).

I doubt they will copy XI in that respect, I'm pretty sure SE and the players of this game want to see it develop it's own unique story. I do admit however, 5 years down the line it would be awesome to return back to the current world within the 2.0 structure, I'm sure it would bring back some fond memories to the current players.
I'd also like to add that I hope FFXIV's story doesn't become political. The way I see it, it sort of shares the same plot as FFXII, and I personally didn't like that particular game.I doubt they will copy XI in that respect, I'm pretty sure SE and the players of this game want to see it develop it's own unique story. When I think of Final Fantasy, I think of fantasy. Things of the supernatural.
FFX is one of my favorites and having a story like that for FFXIV would be hella cool. Just my opinion.
I'd go with IX, that to me had a great fantasy feel to it and felt to me like what a FF game should feel like.I'd also like to add that I hope FFXIV's story doesn't become political. The way I see it, it sort of shares the same plot as FFXII, and I personally didn't like that particular game.

I see that lvl 50 players can rewatch cutsenes from the beggining right? But can I (lvl7) start the game from the beggining and watch all new cutsences from the first to the last?
