Spiritbonding with gathering classes.

Hello there. They made a change to spiritbonding with the 7.0 update:

"Spiritbond gained when gathering will now be based on gear's equipping level rather than its item level."

From this, I guess the "best" option for materias XI and XII would be using a lvl 91-93 gearset, but I couldn't try yet. Will it be worth having a high and low level sets for times I want to farm some gathering materia or is the difference not that big?

Level 91-93 gear will not work if you're trying to get XI and XII via extraction. You're only going to get IX and X (which I know from the dozens I got while leveling my crafting and gathering). You need to have level 100 gear equipped to get XI and XII.

What the patch note is saying is that all level 100 gear will spiritbond at the same rate regardless of ilvl. It won't make a difference whether the level 100 gear is ilvl 690, 720 or 750 - all will spiritbond at the same rate when gathering or crafting the same item.

What the patch note doesn't mention but could be important is if the gear being melded partially or fully will still impact spiritbond rate.

I welcome this change, so you are no longer punished for wearing better gear because it doesnt spiritbond
