Caster auto-attacks

Ok so this is 100% irrelevant to the game, but I'm curious

I noticed that auto attacks of caster jobs I leveled up to 100 now always deal 1 damage.

I'm not sure if it's a bug, a feature or an artefact of the game system.

if it's a feature does anyone know why?

oh and a strength potion still enhance the damage

Black Mage already did this in Endwalker! It's basically that the higher level you are, the more of a stat you need to increase your damage. Since casters all have melee auto attacks, our damage scales off of strength. But none of our gear or traits give us more strength! So the higher level we get, the more strength we need to deal damage with autos, so the less damage we do, until we hit 1 damage per hit. If you do level synced content, you'll notice your autos do damage again, since your level "decreased" the threshold decreased too!
