You have to do pet size all small again after you get Sol. lol figured that out when I summoned it for the first time and it was huge, but all my others were still tiny! So I did it again and it shrunk.
Thanks for this. I will reset sizes when I log in again, its already been a week so who know when that will be lol.
wish there is way to lessen or remove the summon hit effect, the ifrit red and titan yellow full screen attack hurt my eyes after a while. i can remove the effect from option but that also remove my other skill which become weird lol
New bahamut feels like it's another example of EW burst focus. Every 2 minutes you always get the strongest demi summon.
Reminds me of dancer flourish standard step change, basically only reason it exists is you have zero punishment for messing up your burst.
These 90-100 actions might be actually the worst most boring job actions we have got in the entirety of ff14. It's all traits to reinforce this awful burst meta. Which is ironic considering there's actually now a comp where you can have zero raid buffs.
Just what do you think solar bahamut is based on?
Summoner’s rotation being burst first then build up to it completely blocks any interesting additions. The best it can hope for is reskins because if it gets something strong it won’t be in buffs and if it’s filler there’s only one ruin3 for it to replace. It is an utterly terrible frame to build from.
I mean, I get that it’s supposed to be a reference to the fight. But that doesn’t excuse it being a reskin in my eyes. I mean, even the ‘lore’ argument they hid behind for why we can’t have new summons is completely defunct now, because it’s abundantly clear they simply do not give one shit about whether job abilities are ‘lore accurate’ anymore. Hell, Solar Bahamut wouldn’t even exist if they did lol
Plus, why does it have have to be a Bahamut or it won’t fit into raid buffs? They could’ve just a made something else the new Demi and put it in the exact same place Solar Bahamut is now. It would still add essentially nothing to the job but at least it’s something new, it’d be better copium than ‘Bahamut with strobe lights’
I think this is due to them looking for a loophole in the lore they’ve created. Chronologically bahamut, phoenix and hydaelyn are the three primal you first meet - 7th umbrella calamity for the first two and hydaelyn tempering the player in that cutscene. It doesn’t have to be a bahamut, but as all the demis are obnoxious flappy things so may as well use it as a base for demi hydaelyn’s paper thin disguise.
Since the majority of job adjustments/additions have been specifically in burst, and there are few non-healer capstone abilities that aren’t burst damage, it’s basically cemented in there. I think there’s also the cost/work balance to consider. Animations and attacks for each added summon (forced to be added in 3s by the endwalker changes) are far more work than say changing bootshine’s animation and adding 50 potency. Not to mention that the more summons added the less each will be seen under the current paradigm. At some point they’ll just say it’s not worth it and it could well be that point is 3 normal summons.
It would be cool to see them do what they did in Final Fantasy XVI and let you transform into the summon itself but they did have a character back in heavensward do the same thing. It would be cool to learn such a technique for us.I think this is due to them looking for a loophole in the lore they’ve created. Can't wait for Lunar Ifrit in 8.0
