Steps:
1. My fisher reached level 100 while in the Dawntrail expansion.
2. I tried to catch a fish in Tuliyollal. Not a specific fish, just cast out to see what came back. Tried several baits. I received the, "You lose your bait," message while using the Crimson Lugworm. Received the, "the fish gets away," message while using Versatile Lure.
3. I assumed it was because I was wearing pentamelded Indagator's gear (item level 620). So, I switched to a full set of high-quality item level 690 gear, tool, and accessories.
4. I tried to fish again and received the same messages.
5. I went back to other Dawntrail fishing holes that I had previously had no issues fishing in. I received the same messages.
6. I went to Costa del Sol fishing holes that used to frequently fish in. I received the same messages.
7. I went to La Noscea to fish and received the same messages.
8. I put my old gear back on and tried all of those areas again and received the same messages. At one point, I tried to fish with no gear on at all and received the same messages.
9. I have tried to fish in several places in different expansions every day since this issue began and am still not able to fish.
10. I did a lot of research to see if anyone else is having this problem and couldn't find any answers. This issue is preventing me from progressing in the fisher role quest. It's also preventing me from crafting culinarian collectables and current meals that I would like to use on my jobs.
