Before I begin, thank you very much for Dawntrial, as a Navajo I have genuinely enjoyed the story. It is a fine line to write an american indian inspired setting that is both respectfully but not utopia and I greatly appreciate it.

However, what I am unfortunately, not appreciating as much is how BLM now plays.

To be clear, I do not necessarily has an issue with the change to how Umbral Ice works or even the removal of nonstandard rotations (which is unfortunate but I understand). But currently BLM feels incredibly inflexible at most levels of play and very painful to play before Umbral Soul is obtained.

I propose the following the changes to BLM:

1) Umbral Soul to now be obtained at, or close to, level 30. This is a good place to introduce it earlier as it is around where a player will stop using transpose to change between ice and fire in combat and will start to use Fire III and Blizzard III instead, it also will feel like a nice change for becoming a Black Mage from a Thaumaturge for new players.

2) Ice phase feels to short now, not very meaningful, especially as manafont skips it entirely every 2 minutes. Paradox not having a Blizzard version feels very anti-themetic and also makes Blizzard 1 a dead button on the hotbar for higher level content. For this reason I propose the following changes to Umbral Ice and Ice Paradox: Umbral Ice will not recover 10,000 MP on one cast at UI 3 anymore and instead recover 5,000 mp on one cast at UI 3 (2,500 at UI 2 [4 casts], 2,000 at UI 1 [5 casts]) then Ice Paradox will be reintroduced as an instant cast upgrade to the newly needed blizzard I cast in ice phase. This will extend ice phase, still keep the need to use ice spells in it, increase mobility and flexibility in ice phase, and bring back the themetics of paradox.

3) This is my most radical change, but I believe it to be the best solution for helping BLM feel good for competitive and casual players alike without reverting the mana tick system. I believe that the timer on Enochian should be extended to 20 seconds. Currently due to Flare Star, the need for landing all possible Fire IV's is extremely high, and when using certain resources for unplanned movement, especially in the hands of new and intermediate BLMs, this can prevent a full fire phase due to the tight enochian timer. It also makes certain dungeon's movement mechanis, such as the rails on a certian EW patch dungeon, very difficult for us to keep up our buff on. So I believe this to be the best solution.
