SE kind of nurtures negativity anyway. They hold subs hostage with housing. Problems with folks cheesing the duty finders? Add punishments to the undesired behavior, not rewards for the desired behavior (or design it so it wasn't possible in the first place ala random dungeons being actually random). Players are doing too much damage in trust dungeons? We want them to be as slow as possible, the better you perform the worse your companions perform. Players like holding onto lots of items? Yea, let's charge 2 extra bucks a pop for a storage chest.
SE chooses the most antagonistic path against the players possible at every chance, so I have no sympathy for when they are rightly criticized and some of that criticism trends negative.
If they start treating the playerbase as adult human beings that enjoy this as their hobby instead of just dollar signs, they will get a lot more goodwill from everyone.
I think people should allow feedback to be given, both positive and negative, without feeling the need to bury and discredit one side or the other. There's so much toxic positivity in this community it is unreal.

In all seriousness tho calling the XIV dev team antagonistic (the dev team not SE, SE sucks but still better than EA and such) feels like a stretch when they're trying to cater to all players and not just you specifically
In their defense, I believe the old adage goes something like "if you try to make a game that pleases everyone, it will please no one", or something to that effect. Which sounds a lot like SE with DT.
I'll give them the NM of this raid series, the expert dungeons and the extremes tho- combat content good.
I like game.
unsubscribeNot going to fake positivity for a product I paid full price for and a sub.
Its bad. Objectively. The msq has issue's the VA and cut scene designs have issues.
Depending on who you ask even quest and performance issues.
Heaven forbid if you where on an xbox and your game was completely unplayable.
So no as a player who loves this game I will be negative about that things that deserve it and positive about the things that do as well.
This expansion is not a positive thing for alot of players and they have a right to vent that negatively in whatever official format will listen.
It is literally what Yoshida told us to do to be heard by the developers.
And this is what you'll be doing 99.9% of the time going forward, the story you just kinda plow through once and yeah, it's good when it's firing on all cylinders, but gameplay wise it's legit just a visual novel and has been for some time. The shit that actually matters and that we will be repeating for the years to come is the combat stuff and zones and all that, which is all good. That's how I really don't understand why people can say that this is like the worst expansion when the gameplay is aces. Inb4 class complaints.
Because when you have a crappy story that is the best seller for FF14 theres limits of what you can do with the combat system. Yes it has seen improvements, but job mechanics are still a mess until next expansion and if you just want good gameplay they are better mmos out there than FF14 even those with tab combat classic style. And this is what you'll be doing 99.9% of the time going forward, the story you just kinda plow through once and yeah, it's good when it's firing on all cylinders, but gameplay wise it's legit just a visual novel and has been for some time. People play FF14 either for the full package, nostalgia or just playing with friends but those last 2 groups would be playing anyways unless the game really become extremely shitty for them to stomach it any longer, and people who just want to gpose can do it on a free account besides certain races or places...
