General Dawntrail localization feedback

This is specifically for SE's perusal.

The localization in Dawntrail in general left something to be desired. It is an expansion filled with half a dozen and more disparate cultures, and yet members from every single one of them, at some point, use Western academic subcultural jargon and shibboleths. This should never happen in a well-localized script.

One group having this vocal tic would make sense. All of them sharing it, however, points to flaws in the localization process.

Let me be very clear: I am on a fixed income and not at all wealthy. I do not pay for media soaked in Western academic subcultural jargon, as I find it jarring and hostile. One of the reasons I have so far enjoyed FFXIV is that the localization has been stellar, taking into account English-speaking culture without much overt pushing of any particular English-speaking subculture, while presenting a very Japanese view of the world. That appears to be changing. So I'll give FFXIV a little while to see if the localization team gets better at their jobs, else I will take my limited income elsewhere.

What exactly do you mean by "Western academic subcultural jargon and shibboleths"? What words or phrases are you thinking of? Some examples would help.
