    Job difficulty solution

In relation to Preach's recent video regarding class difficulty, I decided to pitch in.

Preach formulated "the difficulty problem" that all MMO's face with the following question: "how easy should a class be to play".

My suggestion for an answer to this is as easy as people want.

The solution to the difficulty problem with classes/jobs is to give the player the option to choose how easy a class should play.

That also means that you should give the player the option to choose how difficult a class should play.

So how do we give players this choice?

We could perhaps dress it up into tiers or the adventurers guild with different tiers for different difficulty.
For example if you engage in extreme trials, you gain some additional complexity to your job that you need to master to be able to beat the trial.

And the same applies to subsequent difficulty tiers, like savage and ultimates.

It doesn't need to be this, it's just a suggestion.

And the added complexity to the job could be the following: talents, specs, trees, equipment modifiers, set bonus etc.
I would also like FFIX's system of equipment learning, which would be a low tier difficulty job modification.

Also, to better control the variability that increased job complexity would give, I would strongly suggest that Square Enix uses statistics to calculate the maximum allowed variability within an acceptable range.

Always wanted some degree of job customization in XIV. People always dismiss it without second thought, saying "there's going to be a meta!!!" Gonna be real, people will always chase the meta regardless what you do. There are plenty of ways CBU3 could implement a degree of job customization if they decided to get creative with it. Worst case scenario, you are forced to play standard jobs in high-end content only, but are free to do what you want in normal content.
