You do not understand Japanese company practices, they are vastly different, smaller teams, spread out work, but vastly more experienced. Money isnt the issue its the workforce they just do not hire enough or have a decent entry-level...
Our cope?
You're the one writing fanfiction about what you believe the SE dev team is doing and acting like you're their accountant and culture expert
There is literally no truth or source to anything you wrote there, you just made it up as a justification as to why you love to pay more to get less
Job design's problem is twofold:
1. Jobs are abysmal to play at lower levels. With each new expansion, jobs are considered to be feature complete at max level, and for all synced content below that threshold, jobs feel terrible as they lack upwards of 80% of their identity
2. They listen to complaints and rework jobs based on these complaints. Job design is clearly good when the team is making new jobs. gunbreaker, dancer, viper, pictomancer, sage, reaper, all very great jobs since their release, very well designed. But the problem lies when they listen to player complaints and end up fucking over old jobs completely. Players complained about dark arts so they neutered dark knight, etc. The devs are at their best when they aren't listening to the playerbase and making/balancing jobs the way they want to.
Working on other games obviously
Are you trying to have your entire spellbook changed up every expansion or..? Like if it ain't broke, don't fix it. If a class is good to play then don't detract from it just add to it. Easy. There are hardly any changes to the jobs and the changes they did are just lazy add-ons to existing combos.
If you look at the amount of changes that the WoW team is doing to each spec and class in the next expansion The War Within, it makes the FFXIV team look like a joke.
you are playing gunbreaker you are having fun.. look at healers and dark knight they are having a bad time.. look at summoner most people are mad
Red mage reach to its limits everything can go wrong from now on

I really dislike what they did to DRG this expansion. Neutered and homogenized for absolutely no reason. I don't play MNK but all of my MNK friends are miserable with the changes. Same for BLMs. I really don't get why they've done this after releasing two amazing new jobs that are fun to play.
TBF, 4 people at full time is more than enough for the job. Having more doesn't necessarily translate to something better because the more people are working on job design, the less direction it could have. Granted, I can't say that's actually the case but I really don't think we should focus on the number of people more than the quality of their work.

FF14 is squares most profitable game by far and what does square do with those profits? Throw them away to projects like Forspoken and Marvels Avengers, both games iirc losing over 100million dollars each. They even considered ff16 to be a failure and that was headed up by Yoshi-p. Perhaps they need a restructuring of priorities and should maybe focus more on the one game keeping them alive. As for more experienced? More experienced than what? These guys have no idea how to code. I guarantee you hand this game to the WoW devs and, within 2 years, they'll have completely redone or found ways to work-around this games "spaghetti code" in ways the devs of this game could only dream of.
As a side note one of the reasons this game is so profitable is because of their terrible customer service practices. How is this subscription based game using 3hz servers? Thats insanely slow for ANY online game. And extra retainer service is ridiculous. 2 dollars a month per extra retainer? In poe (a free game) you can purchase extra storage space for a one time flat fee. The fact that they charge a monthly fee for extra retainers instead of a flat fee is asinine. The list of anti-consumer practices with regards to this game is massive but I'll leave it there for now. Basically they cut as many corners as possible and nickel and dime players at every opportunity.

So, while I agree that DT is... well underwhelming in some areas. Do not want to start another discussion about how bad MSQ was. I do have to agree with Hanayumi, there is difference and it's not as much about the money or retaining experienced workforce but obtaining new work force, Blizzard can hire from all over the world where SE is limited to the Japanese workforce. It's a limitation. Is it an excuse? Not exactly. Is it an explanation? Yup. I still do believe that we deserve better but at the same time I am quite aware we can't expect same level of "lets throw money and people at the game and see what sticks" as Blizzard is doing (and is/was failing for over a decade now) so considering DT a slipup, it's still a decent record for FF XIV.
