The only downside is that any levels 90, or above will not let you continue with exp. It looks like it is blocked out. My starter login opening reverted back to Endwalker despite having bought Dawntrail.

Despite owning the pre-order and having used it prior, it shows the opening for Endwalker. It even blocks any level progression beyond level 90 now.

It feels like it did a re-set to the last expansion.

What happened was you had Early access to Dawntrail but now the early access period ended so you had until yesterday (i believe) to enter the expansion code to continue accessing Dawntrail content.

Yeah, still new to it all. At least now, I can say what to expect with the next expansion.
