Most of people wanting positional fail to see that's the SE lazy way of a making a job a little bit busy (not hard, positional aren't hard) and to not brainstorm and search for way more interisting and fun gamepay mechanics.

The game, job and encounter design, are tied down by the positional.

Getting rid or completly reworking the positional will open a lot of possibilities.... People wanting more positional are just holding back FFXIV gameplay evolution.
You need to let go of them for good... They outlived their stay and just are an archaic bad system holding back the game. (and the lazy way out for SE not thinking : "the job is not busy enough what can we do?".... "Well like alwats. Copy-Paste positional code and they will shut up")
As a MNK main I lost nearly all of my positionals going into Endwalker. In fact, I'm still waiting for these supposed fun and interesting gameplay mechanics that people said I would get when the devs removed.. -checks list- Greased Lightning, nearly all of my positionals, and now my timers too. I would be less angry about losing those things if we got anything of substance to make up for it.

You have to be more specific about what aspects of job and encounter design are being held by back positionals. Give examples. What kind of mechanics are we missing out on because of positionals, and why do we need to remove positionals to bring these mechanics into existence? I'm deadset tired of things being removed from the game and being left with nothing but a vague promise that things might be more interesting in future. You seriously need to spell it out for the devs because 1) I guarantee you they have no idea what these interesting gameplay mechanics are meant to be 2) vague wishy-washy statements like "positionals are holding this game back, remove them and the game will be more interesting" is neither actionable nor useful feedback. Not to mention it's a point that's repeated to the point of cliché whenever this topic comes up, yet people for whatever reason are never specific about what the devs can do with the design space supposedly being occupied by positionals. Enough of these surface-level takes. I want to hear about what you envision.
