Viper is in a great spot, please don't change it

This is the first post I've made on this site, as I and many others it would seem are incredibly passionate about the job the dev team has created. Going out of my way to write this, please don't change this class. It's proof of life after RPR and SMN that SE still has what it takes to make a complex class that is simple to pick up but exhilarating to master.

Viper has the most positionals of any job. That is what a lot of us subscribed to. A fast pace job that's entire identity was being fast pace with an engaging rotations. It's only two buttons, and there is an entire gauge (Vipersight) dedicated to telling you where you are in your cycling combos. It would feel redundant to have that system which was well crafted be cast to the side.

For the people who don't like it, who feel this class is too fast, that's okay. You do not have to play it! There are plenty, PLENTY other classes in the game that can hopefully satisfy that itch. Just because it is new and flashy does not mean it needs to be played. Monk is a great example of a class not everyone enjoys because it is so fast pace. For the ones who want to play it but aren't sure how they feel about it, you can practice it and get better at it. True North after Dreadwinder will cover not only your main 2 positionals of Hunter's Coil and Swiftskin's Coil, but also the next GCD in line for your combo action.

Once more, it is proof of life to me that SE could create a class like this, especially after making the point they might have gone too hard on the QOL of the game. Don't change it.

I disagree that Viper is complex, it is one of the simplest melees in practice, and the extent of its complexity is having the worst worded tooltips ever made. I have a few minor critiques toward the job, but mainly, rather than having a reduction of positionals, I think the better solution is to stop making the same buttons turn into different positionals, because I think an overwhelming majority of people have mapped attacks with positionals in certain patterns for other melees before Viper existed. For me personally, flank is top row on the hotbar and rear is second row. I play with MMO mouse + keyboard.

That said, I agree with most of what you said about the job being mostly fine that it's not made for everyone.

I also play with an MMO mouse, and I think that the alternating rear/flank positionals add to the enjoyment of the job. Without the switching you would just be pressing 111, 121, 222, or 212, which would be far less engaging - as it stands now it at least gives you the illusion that you're doing something more.
