[CRASH] FFXIV Dawntrail make my pc goes black screen and fans at full speed

(sorry for english, not my main language) Hey everyone, not sure i saw anyone else having the exact same problem but since im playing dawntrail, the game make my pc goes black screen and fans at full speed (no choice than restarting it) at random time, sometimes in a cutscene, sometimes while playing (in medium setting, not maximum, cause max make my game instantly crash). Nothing is overheating and I doubt its a hardware issue cause stresstests and other latest big games that using 100% of my GPU (RTX 3080), over 74-75° dont make my pc crash. RAM test passed, clean install GPU driver OK, changed my RAM, clean windows install, re-install the whole game, etc.. Nothing changed. I wonder if anyone is getting the same issue and has a solution to it. Thank you

I have this issue too, running a 3080ti. I’ve seen at least 1 more person with the issue running a 3080 as well.

I’ve wiped my pc, tried 3 different drivers, capped the fps. But randomly, more so in dawntrail, screen goes black and pc resets.

Ran OCCT stress test for an hour no crashes, the issue is only present in Dawntrial. But i can’t seem to find what exactly is causing it.

Appears to largely be an issue with dawntrail and 3080s as I can see so far?

I have that issue with my 4080 Super, too. Sometimes it crashes with a list of NVIDIA dll listed, other times it crashes straight to desktop without a warning, and one time it even bluescreened my PC.

But it only happens in the Dawntrail zones, I noticed. The other zones work without any issues.

So, I seemed to have found a solution: Limit the fps to 60. I had the game running at 165 fps, like the refresh rate of my monitor, and the GPU usage spiked to 100%.

Limiting the game to 60 fps dropped the GPU down to 40% and the CPU down from 20% to around 3%.

So, yeah, if you play with fps over 60, try limiting them, see if that helps.

Not happening to me - I'm on an AMD Radeon RX 7900 XT (4070 Ti Super equivalent)

Looks like it's a nvidia driver problem.

If the PC goes black and fans run app after even a clean install, there is a hardware failure.
either the RAM is unstable (disable XMP/DOCP in BIOS) or youre temperatures CPU/RAM/GPU/SSD are too high, or sth other fails. Check them during gaming and idle with tools like HWInfo64 and GPU-Z running in background. There are two temperatures on the nvidia GPU, "GPU Temperature" and "Hotspot". What is the hotspot? It shouldnt be higher than arounnd 20 degrees in comparison to the GPU temp.
FFXIV is a stress test in these situations (especially on the CPU), not all benchmarks cover games. You can pass in benchmark for 5 hours and crash after 3 minutes in a game. Do you have mods installed in anyway? Overlays also cause this.

Running since Dawntrail EA on my NVIDIA 4080S for now about 60+ hours without a single issue or crash.
