You said you use fire 1 to move and want xeno as an ogcd. That is part of why you have trouble with movement. Xeno is purposefully on GCD to allow you to move in fire stanceI've been leveling BLM to get it out of the way. (I've never really liked the job) I'm only lvl 95 so...
I like the new Umbral Soul I'm just not sure why you didn't make Transpose work like that or upgrade Transpose into Umbral Soul.
Could you either Remove Astral Fire and Umbral Ice timers, make Fire 4 and Ice 4 extend the timers, or make the timers 30s? Any amount of movement I do normally means I need to do a Fire 1 to keep the timers going which I tend to do 2 Fire 4s before a Fire 1 anyway which with the MP they cost means I get a total of 5 Fire 4s so Flare Star would never see the light of day when I get it. (maybe it's a skill issue. again I've never liked BLM)
Also could Thunder and Xeno spells be oGCD?

US and transpose serve different purposes so combining them would be a very bad idea. It would for example, instantly remove the ability to buff F3 procs when finishing ice phase and cost BLM damage.
If you're worried about mobility BLM has the option to hold F3p procs to extend the timer in fire phase. The proc also allows you to weave triplecast and swiftcast. Xeno also gives you an additional movement/weave GCD.Could you either Remove Astral Fire and Umbral Ice timers, make Fire 4 and Ice 4 extend the timers, or make the timers 30s? F4 > F4 > F4 > Paradox/F1 > F4 > F4 > F3p > F4 > Despair > Flare Star
Use triplecast after the F3P and you'll make the fire phase finish entirely instant cast with a full 15 second timer.

I do use Xeno and Fowl to move when I happen to get lucky and get a dungeon / alliance raid that is of level where I have it. But it also doesn't extend timers so even when you use it to move when you stop you still need a Fire 1 or Blizzard 1 to keep your timers going.

Bad news - you dont even use them as stance switchers. It's more damage efficient to swap exclusively with Transpose and only use Freeze, Flare and Flare Star as your ice and fire spells. If you don't have a good time to refresh AOE thunder or dont have Foul, cast Freeze twice, then Transpose.
They could make it good by literally reverting the changes to Fire II, Blizzard II and their high variants they did with Dawntrail. the -40 potency on the high spells as well as the removal of the enhanced Flare effect on F2/HF2 are literally what made the AOE go from actually acceptable to atrocious.

Yeah I'm fully aware of the Transpose nonsense. I mean if they fix it, not just make them exclusively phase-switching spells. I want it to be optimal to cast High Fire II until down to one Umbral Heart, then cast the two Flares. It feels like a strange waste to burn all the Umbral Hearts on the Flare with no added benefit.Bad news - you dont even use them as stance switchers. High Fire II (to switch phase) → High Fire II → High Fire II → Flare → Flare → High Blizzard II → Freeze was fine enough for me in Endwalker, with Thunder IV and Fouls mixed in as desired. Bring that back with the new Flare Star and I'll be satisfied. Whatever it takes to make that happen.

My suggestions:
-Make thunderhead buff 40/45s like thunder 3 used to be, having a 30s dot tied to a 30s buff is a really bad design.
-Bring enhance flare back and increase high fire/blizzard potency for aoe. Aoe right now is extremely bad.
-Make flare star instant and maybe refresh AF timer, it should feel like a reward for doing your fire phase properly, instead it feels like a burden, also let us carry the stacks in umbral ice and give us an option to use it with less stacks with lower potency for downtime, fuck ups, or shorter fire phases.
I believe with these 3 changes BLM would be in a fantastic spot.

Mao has question. Given currents state of BLMs AoE, is its still worth its to use AoE or use stronger single targets attacks and focus fire on one critter ats a time? Mao been usings AoE spells on trash packs still buts Mao hasn't really tried crunch numbers to see if AoE spells still worth its.

F2 (to switch), F2 F2 (to use hearts one by one), Flare (to use last heart), Flare (to use up MP), Flare Star, B2, Freeze is my ideal AoE rotation, with of course Fouls and T2s added as appropriate. At bare mininum I want numbers to change enough that it's not a gain to skip either B2 or F2.
I'm guessing that the problems the dev team is having on this front are largely aesthetic/narrative:
* They probably don't want an "enhanced Flare" trait because it's a little weird that such an iconic spell as Flare is weak by default and needs a regular/filler spell to power it up
* They probably don't want Freeze, another iconic spell, to be weaker than a regular Blizzard spell, even though it has distinct utility related to Umbral Hearts
I think it'd be cool if they increased Freeze's cast time and damage (even to the point of giving it Flare's exact same stats, just like most fire and ice spells are mirrors of each other), but maybe made both Flare and Freeze impossible to cast without a full 3 stacks of AF/UI and also made Freeze impossible to cast unless you're at less than full MP. That way Freeze is never spammable (especially if they make sure to also make Scathe free, or at least make all spells free under UI) but you need to cast transition spells to be able to deploy your heavy hitters at all.
