Agreed, this difficulty is fantastic and by level 100 people should be able to figure out repeated mechanics by now. The first level 100 dungeon is the easiest of the 3 available dungeons due to being linked to the MSQ while the 2 optionals are much more difficult. It shows an awareness that story players need an easier time while the dedicated players will go and get the additionals unlocked to have even more fun.

The first 100 dungeon has trusts which is essentially easy mode. They give you the answers to mechanics way ahead of time. It can't be simpler than that. And as one or two people have said, they just won't engage with the harder 2 dungeons. That's fine for me. If you get filtered by content and realise that it's not for you then that's reasonable. MSQ will always have trusts now and optional dungeons won't. I do think though that if you can't clear with Trusts then an even easier mode won't be any help. DT is super forgiving on wipes and puts you right back at the boss to try again. Dust yourself off and have another try, there's nothing wrong with failing and trying again and I don't see how wiping is considered a game ruining experience anymore.

I have to respectfully disagree with the OP here, as someone who has been playing this game off and on since ARR, as well as other MMORPG's for over 20 years, I find the new Dawntrail dungeon difficulty to be far too punishing. Should dungeon mechanics hurt? Absolutely, but when it feels like there is ZERO time to react to mechanics before you're taking yet another Vuln stack, something isn't right. I stopped raiding Savage because I recognized I could not keep up with the increasing pace of mechanics and I respect that there is a portion of the player base who enjoys that kind of challenge. But for dungeons that are literally part of completing the MSQ, which is the whole reason many of us are playing this game, it should not be so punishing. I have never felt so frustrated with dungeons in this game as I have with the Dawntrail experience. I literally just wasted the last hour in Alexandria, only to force exit the game mid-fight on the second boss because I literally was too angry to continue. (It an NPC party before someone freaks out) I have played these games at a hardcore level before, I am capable of learning mechanics, but the mechanics of these fights happen so quickly, that unless you know what's coming ahead of time, you do NOT have time to react. By the time the telegraph appears on the ground, it's already too late to get to where you need to be. I'm sorry, but that isn't fun for me. I don't want to play Dark Souls or Elden Ring or whatever, and that's not what this game used to be. If the goal is to create more challenging dungeon content for the group that wants it, then by all means create another difficulty level for them, but don't punish the rest of us by making story-required content needlessly frustrating.

I think all of it is very fair. Well, except for Leonogg which brings up the old issues of getting punished based on distance from the server, but that's more obnoxious than it actually is truly punishing/challenging.

I play this game for the story, I usually only play during the first patch for the main story, get my crafters to max and unsub. I'm not interesting in raiding or ultimates. I have hemiparesis and don't have the mobility in my hands like I used to after an embolism, so I stay out of group dungeons so I don't inconvenience other players. I just want to experience the story with my character. This time around, I had to unsub because the jump in difficulty was too high. Most other players seem to enjoy more engaging dungeons, but it's effectively blocked me from progress. It's kind of disappointing that I'll have to end up watching the whole game past level 97 on youtube instead of seeing the end of the story myself, but it's not the end of the world. Wow has an expac coming up soon so I'll have something new to play.

If going in with Duty Support doesn't work out for you either, maybe it would be an option to use the Party Finder to ask for help? Make clear from the start you are disabled and need patient people who can do the duties with you. I'm sure some people would help you out. Not an ideal solution of course, but maybe worth a try?

I want to see if this will turn out to be the disaster like mist of pandaria's proving ground. Interesting days are ahead

I love the added difficulty of the dungeons for sure and welcome it. I'm loving the new designs and hope for more of it, after 100 levels of dungeons I think this is really the route that makes sense. Anybody can get it down after a few wipes and effort. It is the first time I've ever looked forward to dungeons.

I'm worried how the people who find these dungeons make it out in real life. Scares me even more to think that some of them might have a driving license...

    Terrifying world we live in.

I agree, I love the new dungeons, the majority of fights are the right amount of engaging.

For players who are struggling to figure out mechanics, I unironically suggest going with trusts. The more experienced fighters will basically do everything right and the ones who haven't been around a fight end up messing up mechanics the first couple of times they see them, but they just make small comments and correct themselves a bit after, watching them will teach you how to dodge something you don't understand.
