I really like the new dungeon design.
I'm fine with this if they make how the game is currently the "expert" side. I'm honestly tired of hard and would like NPC's or the option to make the msq VERY easy. Literally half how hard it is now. Dungeon design in my personal opinion is over the comfortability level. But honestly who cares im the minority.

At level 100 / Expert dungeons, the bosses themselves are all fun (except Leonogg, screw that guy lol). Though, they don’t hit very hard unless someone starts collecting vuln stacks. Though it does feel like there’s more ‘mechanics’ (mainly avoidable ones).
The mobs in-between bosses though feel like they’re there just because they have to be and not to actually serve any purpose. Beyond the very occasional aoe they all hit like wet noodles, so all I ever get to do is spam Art of War and do Recitation+Excogitation. Though secretly, I sometimes do Recitation+Protraction+Adloquium to artificially give myself more to heal lol (compared to using Excogitation and having nothing to do for 45 seconds because tanks have so much self-heals they often won’t reach 50% lol).
Tbh beyond the extra boss aoes I fear once players have better gear the dungeons will feel exactly the same as Endwalker’s
I disagree. This made the game very uninviting and overly difficult for someone who has not played in years.
And with that I say what I always say in these situations. Why not both.
Why not an easy mode with 1/2 the mechanics and less punishment for failure for those of us still getting the hang of things. Also some of us learn differently and find different things rewarding and frustrating.
I do not feel accomplishment or joy completing these dungeons. I feel anger that I had to deal with them at this level so soon. And fear the next dungeon or encounter will be a wall that ends my ability to progress at all.
I do not want to take away from other's enjoyment of the game at all. So I see no reason why a different mode can't exist for both MSQ progression and learning. Give me less XP, less rewards, whatever. Maybe also add something so I can see future mechanics and some sort of feedback about how I would have done IF I was in a more difficult mode.
Again it feels like a win win. Story focused players get easy mode. And those of use who learn differently and find enjoyment different from other players win as well.
Why not practice the old easier dungeons when you haven't played the game in years instead of suggesting the devs double their workload to appease people who hate a challenge?I disagree. This made the game very uninviting and overly difficult for someone who has not played in years.

I have to respectfully disagree with the OP here, as someone who has been playing this game off and on since ARR, as well as other MMORPG's for over 20 years, I find the new Dawntrail dungeon difficulty to be far too punishing. Should dungeon mechanics hurt? Absolutely, but when it feels like there is ZERO time to react to mechanics before you're taking yet another Vuln stack, something isn't right. I stopped raiding Savage because I recognized I could not keep up with the increasing pace of mechanics and I respect that there is a portion of the player base who enjoys that kind of challenge. But for dungeons that are literally part of completing the MSQ, which is the whole reason many of us are playing this game, it should not be so punishing. I have never felt so frustrated with dungeons in this game as I have with the Dawntrail experience. I literally just wasted the last hour in Alexandria, only to force exit the game mid-fight on the second boss because I literally was too angry to continue. (It an NPC party before someone freaks out) I have played these games at a hardcore level before, I am capable of learning mechanics, but the mechanics of these fights happen so quickly, that unless you know what's coming ahead of time, you do NOT have time to react. By the time the telegraph appears on the ground, it's already too late to get to where you need to be. I'm sorry, but that isn't fun for me. I don't want to play Dark Souls or Elden Ring or whatever, and that's not what this game used to be. If the goal is to create more challenging dungeon content for the group that wants it, then by all means create another difficulty level for them, but don't punish the rest of us by making story-required content needlessly frustrating.
I think all of it is very fair. Well, except for Leonogg which brings up the old issues of getting punished based on distance from the server, but that's more obnoxious than it actually is truly punishing/challenging.
I play this game for the story, I usually only play during the first patch for the main story, get my crafters to max and unsub. I'm not interesting in raiding or ultimates. I have hemiparesis and don't have the mobility in my hands like I used to after an embolism, so I stay out of group dungeons so I don't inconvenience other players. I just want to experience the story with my character. This time around, I had to unsub because the jump in difficulty was too high. Most other players seem to enjoy more engaging dungeons, but it's effectively blocked me from progress. It's kind of disappointing that I'll have to end up watching the whole game past level 97 on youtube instead of seeing the end of the story myself, but it's not the end of the world. Wow has an expac coming up soon so I'll have something new to play.
If going in with Duty Support doesn't work out for you either, maybe it would be an option to use the Party Finder to ask for help? Make clear from the start you are disabled and need patient people who can do the duties with you. I'm sure some people would help you out.I play this game for the story, I usually only play during the first patch for the main story, get my crafters to max and unsub. I want to see if this will turn out to be the disaster like mist of pandaria's proving ground. Interesting days are ahead
