Would suck as a whm 2hr because it's only really useful in a massive battle, not in a party where you get to many adds.

They received so many complaints about the "bubble" being in the opening cutscene and not in game, I can't believe they'd make the exact same error twice.
For me, I suspected that we'd see that infamous bubble in 2.0 since they seem to try and please every requests made, and this just confirmed it.

Ive always believed it was just a physical representation of Protect. You can almost see it in game when you have protect up and you see a part of the bubble when you are attacked. I think its probably difficult or graphically intensive to render protect as a full bubble the entire time you have it up for every player on the screen.

Probably, but it kind of insinuates that you would have to stay near the caster to get the effect. I think they could render a half transparent sphere with some localized buff/debuff/DoT with no issue to performance. Would make for some interesting combat mechanics.
