Please give us the option to turn off DLSS!

It would actually be nice because some people like myself don't need it plus it's a much older version so it's really not that good and blurs images from a distance. Hope square enix actually updates this next patch. I don't understand what they were thinking when it came to not giving us an option to turn it off or on but yeah. I can't imagine what people with AMD cards have to go through with FSR. Also would be nice to add an option for Nvidia's DLAA.

Switch the settings to FSR. Make sure the scaling is set to 100. Uncheck the "Enable Dynamic Resolution Settings" box.

The damn feature really just needs an on/off toggle.

Doesn't help at all, still looks terrible especially in motion. Same with set to 99. It ruins the experience for me tbh and I find myself barely able to login at all and quitting the game after doing 1 or 2 quests because it's so distracting.

This might not be what you are looking for, but you can change the current version of DLSS to 3.7.10 and enable DLAA through DLSSTweaks. With preset E, the game looks amazing. From my experience, the blurriness and ghosting are both gone. However, I should note that it comes at a performance cost depending on your hardware and resolution.

they need to update it to a newer version and add DLAA support, but until then it needs an option to be turned off. This game is not really GPU intensive anyway, it's mainly CPU bound more then anything.

I will also say that it just makes it more of a chore for people when square can't just do right. I shouldn't have to go and get modes to fix a problem that square had caused and wasn't a problem before dawntrail dropped. they need to fix it.

DLSSTweaks is not exactly a solution. Any kind of code injection is always risky, but DLSSTweaks falls into the same category as Reshade, where it may potentially damage the user's system if used incorrectly.

What I would prefer is that the developers just give us some launcher configuration options so we don't have to login and out to fix settings. One thing that's been a situation since the original 2.0 is that the game only launches at the resolution configured, even when windowed. So if you have it set to 4K but then window it to less than windowed. It's still rendering it at 4K.

What blows my mind, is they did a graphical update but didn't fix the biggest issue that forces people to use reshade which is the lack of contrast in the game, because of this the game looks washed out. I was hoping we would get real HDR support and they would fix the contrast in the graphical update, but no they cant even do that.

I am usually quite sensitive to graphical issues in games, but I don't see any of these motion issues. When upscaling is set to FSR, scaling 100 and dynamic resolution off, I don't see any unexpected issues. And that FSR option is exactly the same upscaling that already existed before the graphic update. There wasn't a pulldown menu for it, because it was the only option. The change to upscaling was just the addition of DLSS (in a bit of a weird way).

Just to be sure, the people who have issues with this, are they sure they don't have some reshade or nvidia filters (from gforce experience or nv app) active? With the graphic update it's quite likely some depth buffers work a bit different which can mess up certain shaders/filters. And they have updated their video drivers recently. With a bit older nvidia drivers (a year old) I've seen some graphical issues recently in other games. Or maybe try reset the driver game profile to default.

And about DLAA, you don't need DLSS tweak for that. You can also set it as a driver level overwrite using Nvidia Inspector + "NVIDIA Profile Inspector XML" (from the nexusmods website). That is fully a driver side settings that is read by DLSS, so no injection or grey ish area TOS stuff. Only thing that is a bit annoying is that the currently shipped DLSS in FF14 only read the DLAA overwrite settings from the global profile, it would need a dll version >3.6 to use the individual game profile settings.
