Thread: Are y'all expecting too much from Dawntrail's story?

I haven't even started it yet, been catching up on other stuff since I was gone since 6.1.
Now don't get me wrong, i posted on the "endwalker story bad" thread for years on my other account before i decided to come back to the game on this account.

So, I was under the impression that most of us here on the forum were going into this expansion with no expectations after the Endwalker travesty. Why are there so many hate threads right now? Is it really that bad lmao

I wanted Alpaka in the beginning. I will not get Alpaka until the end! :C

Jokes aside. Just play by yourself and make an own impression! :3

I don't play FF XIV just for the story, though I'm usually at the very least entertained by it in some way. Not so much with this time around. I'm hoping the rest of the expansion's content sort of picks up the slack.

I expected to be at least a little entertained, and so far that's been too much to expect.

Edit: However, I'll give it the benefit of a doubt for now because I'm not completely done with MSQ. Right now it's a complete slog, but I've heard it picks up towards the end.

There's "hate" threads here because this forum is a cesspool and always has been. It's a negative echo chamber infested by professional complainers who for some reason hate everything about the game but keep playing it. Are they hopelessly addicted? Just bitter people with a lot of spare time? I don't know. But go practically anywhere else on the internet and you'll find plenty of people posting about having a lot of fun playing DT (just like they did in EW, too).

People started threads back during EW launch too in order to drum up some praise. These forums have a habit of trying to counter any negative feedback being given.
