Don't care about Ninja.
But, I do want to have dual wield.
The class "Assassin" is already in the dats, which sounds like a Theif/Ninja hybrid to me. Fencer is included as well.
Judging by Yoshi-P's letters, it seems he prefers to fix/adjust current systems before implimenting new content (which I agree with), so it might be a while before the extra classes are actually unlocked...
If it makes you feel any better, I can guarantee I will have as hard a time waiting for them to unlock Mystic as most of you will have waiting for Ninja...

We'll probably be getting "Assassin" given the .dats, which says they'll be using "dark arts" and I forget what type of weapon, and it makes sense that we'll get some type of samurai, given that it'd be dumb of SE NOT to include a great katana class. I hope it's more "ronin" than actual samurai though. Can't stand SAM armor...
And a lot of people are against bringing back blink tanking.

I need!
Ninja & Samurai... such a cool stuff
and they're unique
Need, no. Want, yes.

Ninja was overrated in XI, so no thanks to that. Do something unique with it if you're gonna put it in XIV.

Yes to anything that is Dual wield.... even if its Culinarian.

this forever
I like the aesthetic of a ninja class, though its role as a tank in xi kind of made me go "what".
so i'm in the yes ninja, but not as a tank class.
I think the problem isn't necessarily the class itself, or even Utsusemi. I think the problem is just having any ability that is absolutely required for most situations. What was frustrating about /nin in XI was the fact that every job eventually had to do it. Even White Mages!
It wouldn't have been so bad if it wasn't so over-powered that everyone needed to use it, and if it hadn't been based on consumables. I think SE might have said, "We're okay with this, because it forces players to spend more time getting ninja-tools, rather than completing content."
I wouldn't mind seeing more Final Fantasy jobs, like Ninja or Samurai. But if we're going to have Ninjas again, can we at least let other tank classes like Paladin or Warrior do a decent job of tanking without needing Shadows? It felt like such a cop-out that it took the entire creative part of the sub-job system out of the game. I mean, think about when Blue Mage came out. At first, no one knew what it should be. Cocoon Tank? Healing breeze? Debuffs? No one knew what role it could play in a party. So for a while, /war /thf and even /whm were poplar subs. Eventually people just said, meh /nin works for everything. Why bother?
So no... no game-breakers please. Or at least anything that boring. It saps the creativity out of the game.

I'm fine with blink tanking as long a "Utsusemi" is a Ninja ONLY ability. Got tired of the /nin craze real quick in FFXI.
OMG you Blm isn't /nin, GTFO!
