It's not like it won't spawn again.
Just go next time, it'll be slightly less popular each time it spawns.

It would help so much if it would not be rng based and instead a visible progress bar. Do the Fate-Chain, fill up the bar and once the bar is filled it will spawn. Giving players a bit more knowledge and not trying to FOMO players into standing at the boss arena because it could spawn.... but it might also not spawn for another 10 hours.
I too really dislike the world boss system, it is completly unclear when or how to spawn one of these bosses, so far i know they are part of a long fate chain, but their spawn cooldown is absurdly long, and also the fates are not shown on the map, so you dont even know when its there.
I think i have killed the world bosses just enough times during the expansion to get all rewards, that means one kill in 6 months.
They might spawn when i am at work, or sleeping, or just not logged in and then it is a week long cooldown to happen again.
If you read the flavor text, you'd see that the face chains lead up to something.I too really dislike the world boss system, it is completly unclear when or how to spawn one of these bosses, so far i know they are part of a long fate chain, but their spawn cooldown is absurdly long, and also the fates are not shown on the map, so you dont even know when its there.

The "absurdly long" is actually only 36-72 hours long. Dawntrail are 24-72 hours.
In the 7.0 Patch Notes (https://eu.finalfantasyxiv.com/lodes...918edb036b3004), the Shadowbringers and Endwalker Rare FATEs (And Dawntrail) now show up on the map when they're spawned.
Shadowbringers-
Formidable - Fair point, but both FATEs have the name.
Archaeotania - Every single FATE's flavor text says that this Ondo is looking for Archaeotania because he wants to kill it or prevent other Ondo from using it for nefarious purposes.
Endwalker-
Daivadipa - You are helping pilgrims get to where their god may be. Unfortunately, it's a false one from the Tower of Zot.
Chi - The Omicron you're helping managed to get a connection to this extremely powerful fighter. Unfortunately, you need to kill it to get that data.
Dawntrail-
Serpentlord - Read the flavor text. Three of the 4 FATEs refer to the Serpentlord and how you're helping this bounty hunter... hunt it.
Mica - Hey kid wanna be in a magical parade of funtime and death? Maybe we'll even see Mica the magical Mu to seal your FATE!
I actually kinda enjoy the world fates as they are, because they encourage people to get together and try and pop it. Some hilarious moments have occurred during when Chi was new and now with the snake. Good also to show up even if you already have the mount for gems and exp.
was mica playtested with zoomhacks?

Must be new here, it's got a chance to spawn in a 48 hour window. It's not a guarantee at all, I spent 20 hours there for it to not spawn, was I mad? No disappointed? For sure but hey it's an MMO, and it's a RARE fate. The word rare ought to mean something right? For now when people get the mount and the glam set from the other fate it's special and slightly rare. Later on it will be easier to get because there's less clogged instances so your connection won't be as affected. Also we're you in a party? If so all you had to do was hit it once as long as there's a few tanks that stay alive you get full credit. Now if you weren't in a party that's your fault, fates and hunt marks work of enmity and not damage. The final fate is literally right next to where it spawns. How did you not immediately go to the spawn of the boss and wait? Sounds like winging and not constructive criticism.World boss fates are a bad system. I spent 15 hours trying to get the world boss fate to spawn only for it to die in 10 seconds and I'm unable to get a hit in on it. I feel cheated and used. The fact the system requires me to wait sooooo long do all this work to then have it die instantly. I hate it. The system is archaic and does account for the 200 people waiting in the instances for it to spawn. Its a system that doesn't reward actually doing anything beyond waiting.
Idk maybe a better way of doing it, is if your in the instance on the map and it spawns and dies, everyone in the map gets the rewards. If people want to sit and wait at the boss cool. But dont punish the people that are in the map doing the fate chains to get it to spawn.
why would i pan my camera for 1 open world boss?
besides, default zoom isn't enough for a lot of content now.
most recently leonogg from 100 dungeon, the circling pots go out of your pov because the entire arena isnt visible from any angle.
hence
is the content tested with zoomhacks?
I don't think it's being tested with zoomhacks but I do think it's being tested with monitors and resolutions that most players aren't using. Most of the time I feel like if I could zoom out just a little bit farther, I'd be able to see everything I need to be seeing.why would i pan my camera for 1 open world boss?
