Gathering node distribution in Dawntrail

Is it my imagination, or are the gathering nodes further spread apart than they have ever been?

And if it is not my imagination, whatever can the reasoning be that made someone look at the mining/botany grind and think, "This needs more walking simulator"?

Yeah, it's getting out of hand. Nodes seem hugely spaced out in the Kozama'uka map, especially if you're still on a ground mount
