Please give English Speakers more respect. Dawntrail terrible English voice acting

The VA is not a good VA, voicework-wise and personality wise. People are being called Transphobic for not liking her voice, but here you have her being straight up misognystic against the women of the American Voice Acting industry. Her Twitter/X posts are all just that, being trans and often hating cis-gendered people, but mainly women. If she weren't trans, you can straight up call her an Incel, but you can't because she's protected by that.

Many people find her voice bad, that's just how they see it. If you like it then you like it but can't go not criticizing when the screams are not there, or the voice is flat/monotone.

Sena being trans doesn't mean she is immune to criticism, when we've always had people of any gender voice all types of characters in anime and games. People call out bad voice acting, we've always had. We called out Chaos Wars for the terrible voice crew who were pretty much mostly Nepotism hire because the voice director brought in family. We called out Arc Rise Fantasia for the bad voice work too, but looking back ARF has better voice actors who can raise their voice and not have one tone unlike Wuk Lamat/Sena.

People always just jump straight to Transphobia, but never address any of the other issues. When they say they like the voice, that's all. We never get an explanation. Argue your point. The other side gives videos, instances, of the bad voice acting over and over again but it's always ignored.

I just want to make a quick chime that the German dubbed absolutely destroyed us in terms of talent and direction. The fact the German script is more a literal translation from the JP script really makes me wonder what else they enshittified for us English speakers.

I barely know any German other than words that sound like English, and even I can pick up more words being spoken that is not in the script.

...did you even read and understand the Tweets you included in your message? She is saying that boys in anime are quite often voiced by female voice actors, which is true, and then stating that if cross-gender voice acting is okay for them, then why is it not the other way around?

I did the last trail with all the languages. While the delivery was def better for some of them, all still felt somewhat hollow during the last part of the fight.

So yeah, it's primarily a writing issue across the board.

I liked Wuk Lamat's voicing. Definitely not monotonous to me, there was always an emotion in their tone and their inflections were well done.
I DID think the voicing in the last part of the last trial fell flat to me, but I'm not sure if that's Sena or the audio controls; her voice didn't seem appropriately tuned to the battle environment - it was like being in a movie then suddenly a spoken line comes from behind you irl. It was a jarring delivery.

Despite this thread being pure bait, I'm going to respond with a real answer.

The localization lead was responsible for hiring all of the main voice actors. She was behind the decision to cast accurate voice actors and portray lore correspondingly.

However, the actress for Wuk Lamat was not cast similarly. This is her first role as a Latin-coded character. In addition, she does not have a native accent. The faking of an ethnic accent by a White person should be reprehensible in 2024. How was this missed? And given that the localization lead had "trouble casting" Koana, was the same not for Wuk? What exactly went on here?

For those who don't think this is an issue: you will hear this every time you run the third trial (spoilers). Even ordinary people have commented on it. I'm not sure why Naoki Yoshida is so careless, unless he just thinks that the English translation is only there to be serviceable and nothing more. But given that his tenure on the board of directors has been a disaster for the company, I'm not surprised.
