(It's because they outsourced American actors for the Turali characters.)

In my opinion most of the voice cast in general is either ok or miscast for the role, for example: Alisaie and Yshola sound older than the jp voice, Estinien sounds more like a brooding cool guy where in jp is just cool. I think the problem with english voice acting is that there isn't enough competition, on the other hand, in japan every month there are new voice actors competing for your job forcing you to get better, be it with acting, singing lessons, etc.
I think Wuk's VA did a good job with the lines they were given. There's simply no way to deliver the corny power of friendship lines in an earnest way. I think it's more an indictment of the writing than anything else.
I'd say, in terms on good voice acting on average, it's JP > UK > NA. Japanese are always doing stuff like singing and the like, because their culture in terms of voice acting and anime is extremely different from the rest of the world. UK often have stage actors, so they're well trained in acting usually. NA, it's usually random people from all walks of life; usually internet personalities or friends of them and what not.
JP work culture and games often being made there, including the voice recording being different like how in anime they're in a room together, leads them to often sound a lot better than what we westerners get because they are often building the anime/game from the ground up over there. Of course, because the UK has accents and are generally trained to act then they're often starting off as good, but the lack of direction can make them sound off like Rex from Xenoblade 2. NA being random people means not experienced and will probably be invited in based on connections or other reasons, thus you'll probably get them starting off as meh/bad and then progress to being ok. This is of course, speaking more about newer VA's. Established VAs are, of course, great in all regions; but they keep using USA celeb actors for some stuff and it's often bad compared to actual voice actors.
You notice how really no one is saying "She's trans, so stop criticizing her voice acting"? But there are LOTs of people saying "He's a MAN", "HIS voice acting is awful", "Stop defending her because she's trans"?I found out this VA is part of the LGBT community so it's little wonder she has so much defenders..I'm sorry but I just can't help but realize how disingenuous it is...
Just because she's trans doesn't mean she can't receive criticism, stop defending her and pretending she did good just because what she identifies as.
In the western community, being trans is the ultimate shield from criticism and I'm sick of it.
I'm probably going to get called transphobic now but I have tons of trans friends in school and in-game so you can miss me with that crap so don't even try.

Try going on Twitter and saying she sucks and see how quickly they pull the transphobia card. (Hint: almost instantly)
This. I played through the game with JP va and I enjoyed the MSQ. Just recently watched Grinding Gear go through the early bits of the story and I must ask, what on earth happened to everyone?
Alphinaud, Erenville, Allisae, Krile.
Everyone is just stiff. I've seen people air their grievances in dungeons/trials about Wuk Lamat, but I really am surprised no one is talking about the overall performance too.
This is unfortunately true, They're usually American and they are some of the biggest hypocrites in existence, They will be the loudest complainers you can hear when they feel attacked or victimized, but savagely attack anyone including their own who steps out of the approved narrative of whatever said topic is. If you click some of their profiles you will even find some of them complaining that Natlan from Genshin has "white people".
They are literally the opposite side of the same coin as the people who are considered the transphobes.
Okay, but some of the problem that happenned with Voice acting doesnt just come from the voice actor, The Voice mixing really feel off at time which really doesnt help at all with some character performance. I understand it was to make it more clear to hear for player but it really impact how the scene feel at time.
No one in the lgbtq community will critizice you for saying what you feel about their Acting. The problem is some people use their bad acting (at time, let's be honest not everything was bad) to be transphobic, that where we are going to get angry. It's like they didn't even care.
First...the "protagonist" of Dawntrail Wuk Lamat. Flat delivery, no range of emotions, monotone as hell, extremely amateur.
The fact SE hired this clearly B grade VA for important role like this just shows a extreme lack of care for English speakers...everybody has to start somewhere but who at SE heard her delivery for the final boss and thought "yeah this is banger, ship it".
I found out this VA is part of the LGBT community so it's little wonder she has so much defenders..I'm sorry but I just can't help but realize how disingenuous it is...
