    The only real changes viper needs.

    Viper came out with the release of 7.0 and encourages a fast paced playstyle with quick on the fly reactions to get the most out of your toolkit. On the outset it looks incredible complex but once you fight a training dummy for you should understand what it does and how to achieve it simply.

    The discussion of it being "busy" is technically correct. It is busy, but that shouldn't mean it should be dumbed down for the sake of it. It's satisfying to pull off its combos and getting the most out of your uptime on encounters as possible. There should just be some jobs that have some complexity and rigidness so that the satisfaction of executing your rotation properly is well earned and properly rewarded.

    The change is mostly a visual one. The job hud should make it more apparent whether your combo finisher is on the flank side or the rear side. Some people point out that the ability icons change from green to red as does the buffs they have as well. That's good for most people but for people that are Red/Green color blind, they would also have a rough time seeing what comes next in their rotation. So maybe more of a visual indicator would be helpful, maybe left blade could pulse more if a flank finisher is coming up and the right blade could pulse for a rear finisher, ect, ect.

    Viper has been incredibly wonderful to play, I've been wanting a twinblade job added to the game for nearly a decade. I would hate to see that the job gets simplified just for the sake of a few people where the majority is happy where it is.

    I have also been wanting twinblades for nearly a decade! I play with dual straight swords in dark souls 2, dark souls 3, bloodborne, and elden ring, all of which had excellent implementations.

    When I heard it was coming to 14, I thought it was amazing.... And after playing it all week, my verdict is that it is amazing!!

    In terms of the "busyness" other players have reported, please keep in mind that this job has no defensive or support abilities at all (unless you count using slither on a macro), so if you remove the rhythm that's in it, what would be left to do?

    I don't think it's busy, I think it has tempo.

    As for the HUD, I rely on which buff I want to know where to stand. If I want speed I go rear, if I want damage I go flank. I do this ahead of time so that I don't clip my GCD.

    I actually have the viper sight gauge off completely because if you can see the buttons it's not needed (another useful DawnTrail improvement!) However, eventually I will play with my hotbars hidden entirely, and in that case I may have to use the hud or risk losing my place. I already do this with Samurai and I need the Sen guage to keep track of what I had done already, so maybe a change would not be bad, especially for colorblind folks.

    That being said, there is one change I would like. As a controller player, this class is a dream. It is almost a perfect one hotbar job! But currently it has a bit of bloat that could be corrected with existing features.

    Using the optional "action change" feature, I would implement the following button upgrades:

    Upon using Dreadwinder:
    Steel Fang -> Hunter's Coil
    Dread Fangs -> Swiftskin's Coil

    Upon using Pit of Dread:
    Steel Maw -> Hunter's Den
    Dread Maw -> Swiftskin's Den

    This would eliminate four buttons on the hotbar while doubling down on Viper's current design. It would truly be a one bar job then, because I could fit enough of my role actions alongside my entire rotation.

    If you like these suggestions and speak Japanese, please help by translating and cross posting on the Japanese forums!! I would do it myself, but I don't want to be misunderstood.

    Thank you for your time, and thank you Square for making such a fun and unique job!

    From an accessibility standpoint, any time a button can replace another button, the player should have the ability to choose where the replacement goes. I would absolutely change which buttons the Reawaken sequence goes on.

    Regarding positionals, I think a better tooltip layout would help a ton. That basic info (say, just the word "Rear"/"Flank") should be right below the cast and recast info, in yellow. It shouldn't be buried in a wall of text.
