iirc we had this discussion before. My counter argument is OG warrior of light had a helmet. Aside from the whole idea of a Paladin is being the protector covered in metal.PLD AF having coronets or crowns for headgear is appropriate given AF or Artifact Armour specifically is meant to represent or be based on/inspired by the 'traditional' appearence of that Job in previous FF games - in PLD's case, that's the early FF games like FFIII and FFV where the PLD sprite always wore a gold crown or coronet; Cecil in FFIV being the iconic example of that look.
There are plenty of helmets, both open and fully enclosed with visors/faceplates already in the game (a particular favourite of mine I previously used for ages as my PLD glamour was the Adamantite Helm of Fending), so it's not like we've had every headpiece as a coronet. AF just never is going to be like that I'm sorry to say.
And yes give Paladin a helmet. And ONLY for Paladin.
Og warrior of light couldn't be a paladin considering that job didn't exist in the first game. He most likely represented the Warrior class.
And b4 you bring back the ''Knight = Paladin in JP'' I will say that the in-game sprite don't wear any helmet, despite other job like BLM and RDM having their Iconic hats, WHM it iconic hood and even ninja in that game got a helmet.
