[PLD] May we have a helmet please?

Just unlocked the artifact gear vendor, and I love the look of it - but once again someone wants me to staple a metal plate to my face instead of wearing a helmet....

Why is PLD headgear always a metal plate bolted to my forehead or a half-crown? What's worse is the thing assumes you have a full head of hair - my character does not - so it's literally stapled to their face instead of looking like something you're wearing.

here's almost no variety in interesting, detailed, high-end helmets that look Paladin-ish because, despite the variety in other aspects of armor, we always get a "coronet" or "faceguard" T_T

TL;DR Tanking is dangerous. I'd like some helmets available, it's a strange lack of variety in what's otherwise been a lot of cool and varied design options over the years.

I agree. Also, I wish there was an option to hide helmets during cutscenes. I love wearing a full face helmet and not remembering to hide it before I initiate a cutscene is annoying.

PLD AF having coronets or crowns for headgear is appropriate given AF or Artifact Armour specifically is meant to represent or be based on/inspired by the 'traditional' appearence of that Job in previous FF games - in PLD's case, that's the early FF games like FFIII and FFV where the PLD sprite always wore a gold crown or coronet; Cecil in FFIV being the iconic example of that look.

There are plenty of helmets, both open and fully enclosed with visors/faceplates already in the game (a particular favourite of mine I previously used for ages as my PLD glamour was the Adamantite Helm of Fending), so it's not like we've had every headpiece as a coronet. AF just never is going to be like that I'm sorry to say.

iirc we had this discussion before. My counter argument is OG warrior of light had a helmet. Aside from the whole idea of a Paladin is being the protector covered in metal.

Bruh Paladin translation in Japanese is literally Knight. And ofc knight won’t get a helmet visible cuz its a sprite in 8bits? And Amano artwork is the clear vision of the intended Knight/Paladin? Like are you trolling?

And yeah guess what Cecils coronet is getting stale, boring, repetitive and barely visible. we all want a helmet at least for once. As for your last sentence you sound just like the people 10 years ago rejecting the idea of getting a jump button because let’s be realistic :O

And yet you keep touting Amano's artwork of the FFI WoL as the 'image' of PLD, and yet... some depictions of him in FFI artwork/propoganda it's not even a true helmet but more a horned metal hat (and yes I know PLD is called 'Knight' in the JP version, but the FFI version was not PLD as we know it, but just an upgrade for WAR). And if you like the FFI WoL Amano look that much, you.. do.. know.. his helmet is literally glam gear in the game already?

There's already plenty of enclosed helmets available in the game as I mentioned, which I'm sure you can easily use instead if you want to have a fully armoured look for your PLD. As I said, SE clearly have a specific image in mind for PLD AF which they're going to stick with. Accept that or not, it's not going to change.

Uh as a dark knight I would happily give you my garbage helmet that has been used in my artifact set like 3 expansion running now just with slight adjustments each time. In exchange can I have your paladin armor so my artifact set is no longer laughably bad and stupid? Seriously, you are whining about your crown when you have had the best looking artifact set of the tanks two expansions in a row.

You really don’t get it. I know i as pld can get all helmets and WoL helmet. But it’s not about that at all. It’s about getting a single helmet specifically for paladin and only paladin (an AF helmet). And not the coronet we’ve been getting for more then a decade. That’s what we’re asking for. Idk why you so hard on neglecting what some players ask for but i guess we agree to disagree

That’s the thing, the paladin armor designs are so good yet lacks what makes it complete, A helmet. EW artifact is so good i don’t know why SE didn’t give it a helmet
