DRG: Can we get Spineshatter Dive back for the animation instead of Winged Glide?

I get that they wanted to remove damage from the gap closers, which I do appreciate so we can use it as a utility instead of just using it all the time cause of damage. But why take it away as a "jump" animation? Just remove the other hit effects of the animation and we're good.

Also even with Winged Glide there feels like an animation lock before you can attack which doesn't feel good that I think will likely need to be adjusted in the future.

I'm 100% on board with having Spineshatter Dive return instead of having winged glide. I'm not sure why they made such a change.

Where I get your sentiment, it doesn't feel like a "Jump" with an enemy target would *not* deal any kind of damage and just be a gap closer. Jumps are impactful actions and being relegated to just a gap closer just feels... weird. Like if Shield Lob didn't do damage and was just a provoke. Functionally, it serves. Not so much otherwise, imo.

DRG needs to be reworked.... again, it feels very bad to play, theres no impact on jumps, which their job is all about originally, i also hate the nastrond spam, just make it a hard hitting attack...

I agree 100%. Taking a jump away from the jumping job was one of the many completely nonsensical decisions they made for DRG in Dawntrail.

Fully agree considering the job's identity. Winged Glide is very welcome from a QoL perspective but it's so lacking in flavour.

I've said it on Twitter too, but I think they should have let us steal Plunge from DRK so you can backflip out and front-flip back in

They call it Winged Glide but it's more like Draconic Rollerskates, let the jump job jump

I honestly don't know why they made the change to the majority of the gap closers at all. I mean, I know why they said they did it, but it really didn't need to happen.

So what if players were using them as a dps cooldown? The skills naturally had a built-in trade-off. If a fight suddenly required you to close the distance between you and a boss quickly, but your damaging gap closer was on cooldown, then it would likely result in dps loss by default as you were running back to the target. Lesson learned. The next time you would make sure to save a charge.

It's a change that didn't need to be made. Honestly seems like a theme for a lot of Dawntrail job skills.

I think the change of losing a gap closing jump for DRG is odd on paper, and the skill did not feel good originally (feels fine now imo) but I also don't really feel like I'm lacking for jumps during content at the moment so I don't mind it.

Also just my own opinion but the lack of a gap closing jump makes it feel quite nice when cooldowns and a fight phase line up so that you can use DFD or Stardiver as a gap closer.

I'm convinced it was mostly seen as a weave issue. JP players seem to have a strong distaste for "busyness", so they removed gapcloser damage from jobs that frequently weave. Jobs like WAR still have damage on their basic gapclosers.
