    Sage Adjustments for 7.0.1 / 7.0.5

    When reviewing the recent message regarding upcoming job changes, I do not see any mention of Sage.

    I’d like to reiterate that there are adjustments that you can make with Sage now early on to better appeal to the players who are frustrated with the continued “Glare spam” environment established with every healer right now.

    Please reconsider the following changes:
    - allow both DOTs to stack and reduce the duration of Eukrasian Dosis spells to 15 seconds with adjusted potency.
    - reduce the recast times for Phlegma and Psyche by 50%
    - increase the potency of Toxikon to be 50% higher than Dosis spells at the same level.
    - Add a chance for both DOTs to proc an Addersting
    - Adjust the potency of Dosis to compensate for these changes.


    These are easy fixes to being back players like myself who are being excluded from Dawntrail job design. Many people are not satisfied with spamming Glare equivalent spells for nearly every GCD and we would like any relief from this miserable state. Stop ignoring this 5 year old feedback.

    EDIT: Forgot to add a proc chance for additional Addersting.

    I'd say:

    -Put Dosis down to 21s, that's my personal sweet spot for dots
    -Take it further for Psyche, make it 66%, 20s. Or make it a GCD

    If they can at least add back the double dot, I'll gladly eat my hat, though that would only scratch the surface of what needs to be done. But I have 0 hope for that or any of the changes you're mentioning at this point.

    I'm all for changes, removing the double dot's before it even came out was not a good choice, let it be a slight gain.
    psyche/phlegma being shorter is also nice, I think they saw that healers wanted more "dps buttons" and gave them buttons that are rarely pressed. We need more frequent DPS buttons.

    I'm starving for any sort of healer DPS buttons, so even having a double dot would make me want to play sage...

    I just don't get this strange resistance to letting Sage explore the identity space it was given. Yoshi P specifically called out Shadowbringers healer feedback as something that influenced Sage's design. Why are we being so apprehensive with it? Ambition saved this game. Lack of ambition is killing it for a lot of people.

    Dawntrail has failed to address the problems with Sage's design, and Addersting is still the worst gauge mechanic in all of FFXIV, but it's not too late to improve the state of Sage before 8.0. #FFXIVHEALERSTRIKE
    • Reduce the duration of Eukrasian Dosis's damage over time to 15 seconds. Make the DoTs stackable.
    • Reduce Phlegma's cooldown to 20 seconds and Psyche's cooldown to 30 seconds.
    • Rework how Addersting to be a more fulfilling resource and a part of DPS gameplay.

    Same reason why Viper is being lobotomized. People just can't be bothered to read tooltips and learn.

    did i miss something about viper? i keep hearing people complain that the class is confusing, hard, etc. its probably one of the easiest job after drg (for melee), the moment i put my hotbar in order from 1st until 4th generation, the button placement and the playstyle just clicked immediately for me, its very straight forward class, you basically dancing between flank and rear.

    and i know listening to people feedback is great and all, but i think there should be limit for it, i remember back in EW people saying the class is easy to play, it become boring blabla people want "busier" class etc, now dawntrail change some of the class playstyle and people complain its too "busy"

    In general, I have little love for DPS jobs. I want to be able to heal and provide support consistently, and I’m just burnt out of DPS as a whole, but I just couldn’t vibe with how vipers hybrid button system felt to play on controller. The layout felt awful and I was immediately put off by it. I’m not even talking about positionals because I was looking forward to them, but just playing it against a dummy I just was hating the flow. Of course I would hate if the job were changed to suit my needs because I’m not that jobs audience. L

    I was looking forward to two dots again. I played scholar since 2.0 and its dps kit has just been watered down so much. Sage is supposed to be built around dps healing. I liked the the idea of planning how to use my dash to zoom in close add my extra dot and then weave my way back with slide casts/ogcds.

    All those changes sound incredibly over tunned.
    you want 2 dots with the AOE being a gain on single target. Eukrasian Dyskrasia 40 potency for 30seconds =400 potency full duration. reducing the dot duration on the single dot is just adding to the fact you just don't want to long cast(dosis)?
    reducing the CD on Phlegma just adds more instant cast so you don't want to long cast anything(dosis). Reducing CD on Psyche is just OP and unfair compared to the other healers
    giving Toxikon a proc on dots instead is stealing right from Bard but also again making it so you don't have to long cast your Dosis while you also want it to do more damage than Dosis...
    but you think it's ok if your Dosis does next to no damage to compensate this? you would have to make it do like 100 potency for this to be at all fair and its not practical.

    But of course even if you went the other way and reduce the potency of Phlegma, Psyche and the Dots to compensate the changes it would still be busted as you rarely cast Dosis. it sound exactly like SB Scholar, which even as a scholar main I don't want to go back to this.

    Keep in mind Sage got the best new damage skill out of all the healers, you require no previous skill to activate it absolutely free to do insane damage to single and AOE mobs.
