Holy crap I might need to check the combo again after I get off of work. I thought I had it right because I was targeted by the lv80 alliance boss after the tank died.

I agree!
This job has no defensive or support gameplay whatsoever, not even Reaper or Samurai are this "selfish". If you take away the rhythm of the job, what would be left to do?
Just looked up the job rotation guide and I was right.
If you get the damage buff i.e Hunter's Instinct, the positional will always be flank and vice versa.
The positional's for dreadwinder pretty much helps with this deduction because you get the potency buff for swift if you hit the rear.
I really like how viper plays. The high APM is actually what makes the job really fun for me. And once you get the hang of the kit, you figure out where your utility OGCDs (True North, Bloodbath, etc) fit and can really max out performance. The positionals likewise aren't bad once you get the hang of them.
Honestly a melee job this involved was sorely lacking, so I was really happy with Viper being as "busy" as it is. It's disappointing to hear that it might be losing that. Really hoping they reconsider changing the job, and happy to see I'm not alone in how I feel here.
I like viper how it is and would ask it not to be changed. Removing positionals would just push it even closer to being Reaper's Cooler Brother.
I made a forum profile just to add onto this, DO NOT CHANGE VIPER!
I'm delighted with Viper more or less as it is right now. Please don't remove it's positionals or make it less "busy." That's what makes it fun to play!
I support the Viper changes and would like to see the positionals removed completely. Please continue to make the job more accessible.
Please do not change this job it is perfect fine the way it is
Besides I believe it is too early to even consider job changes
LEAVE VIPER ALONE! PLEASE
