    I legitemately do not understand why they want to change viper and make it easier when it's already really easy.

    I can understand being confused by the skills description due to how bloated it can feel. I know I was at first.
    But if you just hit on a dummy with it you'll quickly understand how it works and positionals make it fun.

    I haven't hit level cap on Viper yet but I've really been enjoying it so far! I absolutely cannot stand them making a change so suddenly in the direction of simplifying the job.
    They're taking the wrong lessons from SMN- Have some faith in the team that designed Viper. It's pretty damn fun and a lot of people agree!

    Where is this intense outcry for making Viper easier? There is so much *easy* content in this game. Gutting the goodfeels of the busyfeet does nothing but hurtwound your playerbase!

    THINK OF THE MOBBIES.

    I been chatting with others that I personally know, and from what I understand there is three aspects that feel harder than they might for others:

    1) Quickness of rotation
    2) Positionals
    3) The "flip-flop" of abilities (like twinblood and twinbite swapping in priority with either use of the Coils).

    I had already showed that its fairly simple to maintain positionals without overdoing the movement, by being at the SE or SW of an enemy if its not a full circle.
    Quickness I had nothing except for just having minimal speed melds for a slightly lower gcd, as that is part of the job's rotation.
    Same with the "flip-flop" being part of the job, although it seems s to be confusing to work with at least from what I was personally told.

    I personally don't have these problems and think that the job is fine just the way it is right now. As I personally been playing it, just for fun, at higher apm with my skill speed currently at 2703. Which would also mean I am being subjected to the job's rotation, positionals, and "flip-flop" more than others in a given encounter.

    I personally believe that the so called "issues" people have been experiencing with the job is the fact it breaks conventions and is not as homogenized as the others. Where it requires a somewhat familiar yet also different skill set.

    A few people supposedly say viper is too busy and they rush to change it after a few days. But when large amounts of the community complain for years about lack of job depth the best we get is "we'll look at it in 2 years". Make it make sense.

    They lied to us. They did not put in effort into that patch, and it made me so mad I quit the game over it. Shadowbringer's story was nearly over by that point, and I had no will left to get back into raiding.

    How did they respond to the criticism about the RoE change nobody asked for? Did they change it back? No, they gave an extra charge to it, because 3 charges of a 10-minute effect = 30 seconds of the effect... right?

    Wrong. Those mechanics were still impossible because you're supposed to take damage only once and then avoid the rest of the damage.

    So, not knowing what else to do to make MNK mains happy (since very direct forum feedback wasn't enough), they decided to take a 30-minute ramble (which was so ridiculous I'm convinced was under the influence) from a certain content creator, treat him as an "expert" on the job due to his influencer status, and use that as the basis for EW MNK. And DT MNK is like EW MNK but for people who didn't understand how to hotbar Twin Snakes after Dragon Kick and True Strike after Snap Punch.

    When I quit for four years in 5.4, I didn't even think it was possible for it to get THIS bad. I am ONLY back because of Viper being a return to form for us Stormblood Monk mains, since MNK has been thoroughly destroyed. I have no issues quitting again.

    A great deal of the dev team should be fired over this going on for so long. We do need a Melee DPS strike at this point.

    I have to agree 100%.

    I've been a tank or healer main since 8/28/2013. I could never quite either find something in a dps role to enjoy in high end content or in general - or ever figure out how to play it well enough to hang with the savage crowd on a dps job.

    Tanking and healing has left me a little wanting for more buttons to press so I thought I'd start Dawntrail as a Viper.

    Most fun I've had in ten years. It's the perfect balance (pun not intended) where the job is busy, the positionals are not incredibly demanding but they're still there meaning focus and attention are needed. The timers leave room for skill expression and optimization. The job does not feel homogenized at all which so far these were all selling points and design social points of the job to begin with, right?

    I mean even the Reawakened combo is SO satisfying to pull off while doing mechanics at the same time, love the visual and sound effects and having the Legacy oGCDs and Ouroboros finisher make the whole thing FEEL like you're playing well!

    Anecdotally I have yet to hear a negative comment about VPR in game on Sargatanas (also not intended) so the fact that anyone has mentioned the job might be "too busy" is entirely new to me.

    I'm adaptable to small changes but I'm genuinely hoping the core of the job stays exactly the same. I've been extremely satisfied with my new main!
