    DiectX crashes (multiple error lines)

I got random occuring DirectX errors, most frequent on PvP 2 crashes during match. On normal MSQ about 3-4 occurences in a day in random situations.

Graphical settings maxed out. DLSS. Dont have problems in other games. It was not a problem in FF14 before expansion. Drivers up to date.

    RTX4090, i9 13th gen, 64G DDR5

Try underclocking your GPU slightly, or setting it to base clock of the 4090 FE. XIV doesn't play well with overclocking (even factory) and seems to just randomly decide when it wants to throw a fit about it.

The only times I've had crashes in XIV, I fixed them by adjusting my clock speed. It's happened a few times across different PCs and that was always the culprit. I also have a 4090 and started getting random crashes around patch 6.5. I set my GPU to -100ish and I've had no more crashes since then.

Side note, it's not necessarily a Direct X error, it's just the game program itself crashing. DX11 is just in the program name (ffxiv_dx11.exe), in contrast to the DX9 version.

I switched to play in borderless window and disabled the dynamic resolution, and crashes stopped. Had the same error as you.

FC suggested reshade issue. I got not up to date version. I redeployed and will see if it helped.

A work around for some with intermittent crashes has been to use dxvk. This will redirect directx calls to vulkan. This may not work for everyone, but has shown success with a number of people.

You unzip the DLL files into
    Code:
    FINAL FANTASY XIV - A Realm Reborn\game
folder. If you want to stop using vulkan, just delete the DLL files.

    DXVK can be found here:

    https://github.com/doitsujin/dxvk/releases/

This is not compatible with reshade as they both work by placing DirectX DLLs in the game folder. It may work if Reshade set to vulkan, but I havn't tried it.

You might be affected by this:
    https://www.radgametools.com/oodleintel.htm

    Try this:
"A reportedly successful workaround for many people is to use Intel XTU and lower the Performance Core multiplier from x55 to x54 or x53. Apparently, affected titles may then crash one more time during load immediately after, but will work afterwards (we have not been able to confirm this ourselves). Using XTU is likely the quickest and easiest way to go and doesn't even require rebooting to try different settings, but you might need to reapply it after every start if you don't save the profile. (Alternatively, set the P-core multiplier in the BIOS instead.)"

    Cheers
