Megamaguey Pineapple drop rate is terrible

I'm trying to craft high end Dawntrail food, and it's 2 x Cooking Mezcal per dish
That's 5x Megamaguey Pineapples

The drop rate is something like 1-2x... per 8 mobs killed.
Add in how spread out they are, and it's awful.
Farming for 15 mins got me 5 Pineapples

Trying to farm mob drops is always annoying. That's why those types of materials are now available for bicolor gemstones (which is how I'm getting mine). You can also use DoM/DoW retainers to get them if your retainers have leveled high enough.

Yeah, farming mobs for drops is really a bad strategy , it is better to buy it for Gemstones or send a retainer.

You have the option to farm it through mob kills.

You have the option to acquire it through DoM/DoW retainer Hunting ventures.

You have the option to purchase it with Bicolor Gemstones.

You have the option to purchase it from the market board.

Why do you need more options than that?

No one has an issue with aldgoat farming, they intentionally reduced the mob item drop rate more and more per expansion. Fate mobs used to give loot. Now they don't. The world should just not have any monsters in it for how little we are encouraged to interact with them. 3-6 mobs scattered around an area is not world building.

A real shame they still go the 90's mmo look despite having really good map design via flora and are held back by fauna

Go farm FATEs instead. You get 16 Bicolours per FATE at the bare minimum, which is 5.3 Pineapples.
It typically takes 4 minutes for me to complete a FATE, and that's without being fully geared.

See options 1 and 3 from my list. Every DoW/DoM job has the ability to interact with the world to get those resources.

I mentioned in the other thread that a recent FATE farm for not quite an hour netted me about 350 gemstones, which would buy me 117 pineapples. Bonus conditions now affecting gemstone rewards has made FATE farming very efficient.
