I'm not saying the fights bad. I'm saying for a story fight in a game where most people don't care enough to be hardcore its too difficult. Noobs should be able to get through the story so they -want- to play 2.0. Hard fights should be for gear and stuff (ex. ifrit)

They're just as likely to say "Oh... that's it? /afk5months"

I really think you're over hyping the difficulty of this fight so I really don't understand where you're coming from.
Our first time entering we got killed by 9,999 damage. Our second fight we got hit by 9,999 damage but identified why.
    Our third fight we won?

I really don't understand people who want games to play themselves and want enemies/mobs to just wait for you to kill them. If you play Halo on easy the enemies just run back and forth waiting for you to kill them. If you play Civilization V on easy the rival nations just wait for you to come over and conquer them.

    Why even play?

If the game is a challenge for them they should embrace it.
The correct mentality would be to be happy that it's challenging and begin logging in more to try to conquer it before 2.0 goes live.

Enjoy your wipes. Enjoy your progress. Enjoy your victory.

What the fight is not hard. Why do you want a game to be easy mode? Dont you want a challenge? Do you want everything handed to you? Take your time and learn the fight. I know plenty of casuals who have done this fight, the issue I see is some players dont want to do anything other than have things handed to them on a silver platter. When you are doing content pay attention to what is going on and discuss with the group you are in about whatever it is you are doing. It isnt hard to figure out just take your time. There is no reason for players to jump on the forums and complain that content is too hard other than a very few exceptions. Now considering that this content just came out on wednesday and some1 or some players are already complaining, tells me that you havent taken the time to actually learn a strat for the fight. Also consider you stated that you or they wiped 10 times, you really havent tried hard enough. Its like riding a bike, if you fall off get back up on try again, but giving up after 10 or 15 tries and than complaining it is too hard is not the answer.

Sorry to slightly necro-post. Earlier I said I was tired out from failing at the final fight, and I was.

This was my first time fighting a boss like this on an MMO. I never played Final Fantasy XI and usually, MMORPGs tend to make boss fights easy without good gear and even easier with good gear. Difficulty doesn't factor in games like AION and World of Warcraft - all that matters is gear and time played.

This was my first time fighting a boss like this and my GOD it was hard. But after finally defeating him after three days of trying, I never felt happier. I never felt this before - the feeling of accomplishment after a myriad of failure. I felt like a hero, an adventurer - and my hard work was finally put into fruition.

However, the first time WAS frustrating and I did feel like I was going to give up a lot of times. This was a large difficulty spike - more difficult by a longshot. Even United We Stand was more about strategy and survival than actual fighting. This was my first actual fight - and it was even harder than Garuda.

The fact is, I was angry because I was completely caught off-guard from the difficulty spike. The quests that I did earlier were designed to be easy because they followed the ideas pre-Yoshi-P. Now that I've seen a fight post-Yoshi-P, I can't say I was disappointed. More frustrated at how I wasn't able to hone my skills so that I could have a bearing when I entered that floating island.

But now I'm looking forward to 2.0. They can get rid of that teeth-grinding frustration by creating a difficulty curve - something this game does NOT have right now and desperately needs. Something most MMOs don't have, unfortunately. Perhaps then the frustration can be replaced by fun, challenge and all.

Gonna assume you mean the lvl 45 Garuda. Taming the Tempest is in a different league to this fight really.

Won on third attempt. The strat isn't too complicated, but the party setup is rather imbalanced. BLMs are needed of course, at least for destroying the meteors.

We were all noobs on that fight in the beginning, your arguement holds no water.

To add to this, some of us even did it with no pre-made strategy. Do I sound arrogant? Maybe so, but I don't care, because I'm proud of what the pickup group and myself were able to accomplish without having thousands of players do it before us.

Have some sense of pride and quit expecting everything handed to you.

(Not directed at you Uni. Just adding to your point.)
