Sorry to slightly necro-post. Earlier I said I was tired out from failing at the final fight, and I was.

This was my first time fighting a boss like this on an MMO. I never played Final Fantasy XI and usually, MMORPGs tend to make boss fights easy without good gear and even easier with good gear. Difficulty doesn't factor in games like AION and World of Warcraft - all that matters is gear and time played.

This was my first time fighting a boss like this and my GOD it was hard. But after finally defeating him after three days of trying, I never felt happier. I never felt this before - the feeling of accomplishment after a myriad of failure. I felt like a hero, an adventurer - and my hard work was finally put into fruition.

However, the first time WAS frustrating and I did feel like I was going to give up a lot of times. This was a large difficulty spike - more difficult by a longshot. Even United We Stand was more about strategy and survival than actual fighting. This was my first actual fight - and it was even harder than Garuda.

The fact is, I was angry because I was completely caught off-guard from the difficulty spike. The quests that I did earlier were designed to be easy because they followed the ideas pre-Yoshi-P. Now that I've seen a fight post-Yoshi-P, I can't say I was disappointed. More frustrated at how I wasn't able to hone my skills so that I could have a bearing when I entered that floating island.

But now I'm looking forward to 2.0. They can get rid of that teeth-grinding frustration by creating a difficulty curve - something this game does NOT have right now and desperately needs. Something most MMOs don't have, unfortunately. Perhaps then the frustration can be replaced by fun, challenge and all.

Gonna assume you mean the lvl 45 Garuda. Taming the Tempest is in a different league to this fight really.

Won on third attempt. The strat isn't too complicated, but the party setup is rather imbalanced. BLMs are needed of course, at least for destroying the meteors.

We were all noobs on that fight in the beginning, your arguement holds no water.

To add to this, some of us even did it with no pre-made strategy. Do I sound arrogant? Maybe so, but I don't care, because I'm proud of what the pickup group and myself were able to accomplish without having thousands of players do it before us.

Have some sense of pride and quit expecting everything handed to you.

(Not directed at you Uni. Just adding to your point.)

Its not too hard, but it's harder thank i think it should be. Considering it is a finishing quest without rewards besides some seals i believe its challenge excludes too many ppl.

These delicious tears of people who are not patient, not willing to research a fight and experiment. I'm glad these "friends" are leaving.

Wow.... I haven't even gotten the patch yet and it's already being deemed too hard a fight?

The issue your friends are facing is not an issue of 'Casual' versus 'Hard Core'. I think perhaps they might be expecting it to be too easy (especially as you seem to suggest, they do not really play).

But yes, if they really want no-think-no-plan-no-gear-super-simple-win then their best bet is to NEVER try any content when it just comes out. Wait for others to figure it out, post their videos and strategy guide, then go on and give it a try.

We should realy be careful about creating this divide. It's almost as if:
Casual(n): Expects to to instantly win with almost no effort.
    Hard-Core(n): Not Casual.

Not to mention her friends is only a Small Portion of FFXIV.. ( which maybe 2-3 people) That are whining because The "Final Boss of FFXIV, in which in every other FF game a Final Boss isn't no Push Over" <---- Assuming this is the Final Final Boss... Since their is still more story to tell in the 7th Umbra Era Content. Final Bosses has to have some sort of Difficulty to it..

As DarthTaru said, and Beautifully said at that:

"Enjoy your wipes. Enjoy your progress. Enjoy your victory."
