Facewear needs more types of items

Facewear shouldn't be limited to just glasses. Things like Eye patches, monocles, maybe piercings? Though that last one might be too much to ask given all the different face shapes in this game.

But yeah! I like having my character wearing an eyepatch because I did some lore for her, and it would be really cool if I could still use other hats and hoods and such while still having the eye-patch covering the eye I'd like covered.

For things like eye-patches and monocles, unlocking them should give you the option to have it cover either eye, as I know some people have lore where they lost the right eye, and others the left.

I doubt I'm the first person to think of this, but a quick look of the posts here didn't show me anyone else saying the same thing, so I thought I'd post it so I could get my thoughts out there!

Eye patch(s) seem within the realm of doable. They're basically just "glasses" with one eye, same with monocles. However most of these are on the "hat/helmet", so to add such a thing, requires setting a priority with the hat object (eg does this replace geometry on the hat.)

Piercings are unlikely to ever be a thing, because that is pretty much asking for an additional face type. Tattoos are done by just adding an additional texture layer to the skin, but a piercing actually requires an attachment point (see the earring, and where it attaches on the different races.)

Pretty much the game wasn't designed to have piercings, and given how tumultuous players are about wanting to keep the same face, it's very likely that it could only ever be done if they break the individual parts on the model (Eg lips, ears/horns, nose) to be separate. Otherwise the "piercing" is just going to look flat. Look at the beast tribes and how seemingly things made of metal are bending over their geometry. Look at player characters how necklace objects supposedly made of metal are bending like they're fabric. That is what would happen.

The game doesn't do a particularly good job at not warping metal gear, in the first place, so I could only imagine any attempt to add small details that aren't skin-agnostic (basically things that are like tattoos/beauty marks) resulting in people not liking the combination of things and the developers being helpless to figure out what the players actually wanted.

I found an article on Facewear and it seems to be only very specific pieces right now. Really bad decision to do it like this ...

As with the other Thread, I want to be able to wear the 2b Goggles/Blindfold.

But one thing I noticed as BLM.

If you wear (shadded In my case) glasses, they wear underneath the BLM Hat Eyecover.

it makes me think.

did they implement with this concept in mind.

or will they allow multiple layers, and make specific items or gear to become special.

One thing for sure, we need go test things out. see what is allowed or not.
as of yet, I have not bothered to see if the Glasses appear under blindfold gear or full head coverage.

My guess is that the system was actually created to allow Solution 9 NPCs to wear these doodads and was implemented for us in the form of glasses as a bonus.
