Yes, which is why there's 5 full installments of the story yet to come, with the clear hint being that Krile is going to be the major focus (just like how Zero had nothing to do with 6.0 but was front-and-center the entirety of 6.1-6.5).
Garlemald is already quite well-able to fend for itself as it rebuilds at this point...the twins' purpose for physically being in Garlemald is done. The whole point for them now is figuring out how to help Garlemald with the next step, which they're doing directly by potentially establishing ties with Tural, and indirectly by gaining insight into how different groups can successfully integrate in one society. Not really given they haven't really learned anything they didn't already know, not to mention they left Garlemald to fend for itself during their time of dire need, which looks bad as ambassadors.
I'll admit, not really a fan of Krile either. She's got a very flat personality, and just ends up looking off somewhere to herself thinking all the time. I'm not sure what they could do with her short of changing her personality completely to help it though.
The difference here being that Zero wasn't even introduced at all in the 30 hours of Endwalker's main patch or shown in any of the advertising. Krile was there the entire time, shown all over the trailer and advertising and just sat in the background doing NOTHING. And when she did finally come on screen, she had nothing interesting to say. Literally. Meets her parents for the first time in 20 years and before they can have a meaningful conversation the screen FADES TO BLACK! Are you kidding me?!
And guess what? Lots of people crap all over Zero because she had very little time to develop. She had a rushed "friends are important" arc and then the story had to move on. I don't see how a McGuffin which barely relates to Krile, seeing as her parents didn't have ANY information on it, is supposed to get me excited.
Even if it DOES lead to development for Krile, that doesn't excuse her sitting around twiddling her thumbs and sniffing Wuk Lamat's farts with the rest of the cast for 30 HOURS. I can still love Alisaie and think she's a boring character in the Coils of Bahamut trials. I can still end up liking Krile's development in the post patches and think she's absolutely wasted in Dawntrail's main 30 hour MSQ. Sorry, that's just how opinions work.

Yeah, I thought that after the mid-point the focus could be both Erenville and Krile. I even thought they'd do that going forward the fourth zone... but soon enough bam, spotlight back on Wuk Lamat.Dawntrail was half setup to be a story revolving around Krile, an already established character that we know and love that people were asking to see more of. She finally gets a cool new job and comes to help us fight, yay! But instead it's literally just Wuk Lamat: the expansion.
And halfway through the story we learnbut for some reason 90% of the screentime is still focused on Wuk Lamat??? Why?!that we are investigating Krile's homeland, where she literally came from, where her family is from,
That's my #1 reason I hate Wuk Lamat, because of how much well deserved screentime she took away from Krile. This expansion should have SO much more Krile screentime, it's ridiculous and disappointing that they sidelined her this way.
Edit: Also completely agree with people saying that Erenville should have got more focus, too.
You mean you didn't like the Wukadventures of Wuk Lamat starring Wuk Lamat?
Yep, this entire expansion should have started with the WoL exploring as they saw fit, helping people occasionally, Learning mysterious things about the Golden City via Yok Huy ruins, Running into Estinien randomly, Erenville ultimately using our help and what we learned to discover the Golden City, Then focus on Krile for a bit after that, then Focus on Erenville for Zone 5, Then a return to focus on Krile.
I would have actually loved the idea that we need to mentor the son of the Dawnservant to be worthy of his father's legacy by teaching him that strength isn't everything. We could do some actual mentoring, by guiding him on his way to learning compassion, and understanding. That's the "Warrior of Light trains a new hero" story I want.As an aside, Gulool Ja Jr gets my vote for the regency. He’s kinda adorable! There could’ve been a great storyline there about whether he accept his father’s legacy and what that actually means for him, especially as he’s essentially the King of somewhere that shouldn’t even exist. But naa here’s more Wuk lol
Throw in some Zenos paralells, and we've already gotten off on the right foot in establishing why we want to help this guy not end up dying at the edge of the universe after eating half a mommy-god. Though to be fair, some people would definitely be tired of Zenos after he was so prominent in Endwalker, and his voidsent was so prominent in 6.X to mixed reception.
Edit: I made this comment before getting to the lvl98 quests. glad I suck at reading, I guess.

Over 1,000 lines for Krill is 1,000 too many.Dawntrail was half setup to be a story revolving around Krile, an already established character that we know and love that people were asking to see more of. Here is a graph showing dialogue spoken per character in Dawntrail, Krile should not be that far down and Wuk Lamat's lines should be cut by AT LEAST half.
The fewer we see those disgusting Lalafell/Milallas, the beter.
Hates Lalas.
Having finished the MSQ now, I wholeheartedly agree. In the parts in which Krile actually got to do something and say something of her own, I really liked her and wanted to see more of her. If it went by me, I'd cut the entire succession part of the game and start out with only Krile and Erenville exploring and actually looking for the Golden City.
But even in the very last zone, in which she finally gets "her plot", way too late, it's still too little and she's still overshadowed and sidelined by Wuk Lamat at every opportunity.
And this may be a personal gripe, but I'm also bothered by Krile getting only the family plot in what should have been her expansion to shine. A bit of lore, a few heartwarming/sad moments that are supposed to make the player feel something, again way too late. But looking for her family history was only one part of what her journey was supposed to be about. She wanted to come on an adventure with us for once. She wanted to be useful in battle after being bothered by her non-combatant status for so long. She picked up a combat skill that suited her. But that meant nothing in Dawntrail except placing her in trusts. That's just gameplay and meta level justification, it doesn't have narrative meaning on its own. Erenville could shine more than her despite being content to be a non-combatant - which I like, for him. He's a great character. But Krile specifically wanted to fight and get into the fray with us, and we could have had such a good adventure together, travelling, getting into increasing levels of trouble with her building her confidence and capability. It could have been a WOL-as-mentor, training arc, kind of story that I would have been happy to do.
