Acceptance is also a lesson.I get the point of drawing us in and taking it away for story affect, but what they've done is permanent and needn't be. I'm not 6. Ive learnt the lessons they're trying to teach me.
It's such an amazing and massive asset to lose so quickly and easily just for sake of story. The amount of dev hours that went into cradting such a big great area just to drop it so casually.
I hope it comes back and we can use it.
We get enough disappointment irl, we don't simulate it in our games.

NG+ is a thing, but we don't get that until 7.1 or 7.2. I REALLY wish SE would bother to add NG+ functionality, because I'd actually do NG+ so I can see the zone again. There are some really cool areas, but I agree that it's a massive waste of budget to take it away like that. Sure, they want us to let it go and let the memory be fleeting, but it wouldn't have killed them to have the area's look remain while we erased memories of people. Heck, the ambience you have right now is nice, but the lack of color makes the place dull. We didn't want another Ultima Thule.
A lot of the endless do mention that the area used to be open to living beings (presumably before the barrier around Alexandria went up) I can see them maybe resorting the actual zone and repurposing it for living beings as with the key out of the picture the gate is just a stable portal into living memory (or alternatively they may manage to open the portal on the top floor of the everkeep again and return it to Alexandria)
The problem was never the maintenance of the zone it was the fact that the endless required living human aether, living memory could 100% be used for something for living people
But if not I’ll just turn on NG+ whenever I enter that zone, I already have a ShB NG+ saved for kholusia everlasting light as kholusia looks ugly under normal light
As a healer main in this game for nigh on 14 years all I can say is that I’m tired. My role has been eroded of complexity and expression for 3 expansions. I’ve watched the tanks do my role for me for 2 expansions and my feedback and critiques continue to fall on deaf ears.
I have no idea who modern healers are designed for but I know now it’s not me. This is the first expansion I’m truly considering dropping the healer role and not returning, so if that was the goal- congratulations I guess
Yeah while I get what they were going for from a plot perspective, the game presently suffers from the open world being really devoid of activities beyond FATEs, DOH, and beast tribes. To have an entire map basically get tossed for the sake of a (lackluster) story feels like a poor use of resources ngl.
I'd say the fact that this is your reaction means that they did a good job trying to make you feel the way they wanted you to about it lol.Came here just to look for a thread like this. Last zone was excellent, first time we've had a zone at all similar to them - especially the canal zone. So pretty.
Was planning on doing alot here with friends but...
Then they took it away. I had alot of fun and happiness exploring this map with my friends and now I'm just depressed going to it.
The colorful floor tiles were low res, I won't miss them.
Would have been a great place for gposing, but alas
I felt bad about losing it and never being able to view everything from above, but... that's what I love about it. It's about letting go and I'll cherish the short time I got to spend in those worlds and the ability to look back at those gray buildings and remember the endless left behind.
Story wise? Yeah, I get that. Though the quality of game or removal of it should not be be justified purely because of an in-game lesson of the story. If it was because of game or server limitations, absolutely fine. Though creating something amazing, and taking it away, for - what I consider - shallow reasons feels like a waste. Waste is the only reason why I bring it up.
For what it's worth for the others, you can visit it via new game+ right now. Not a problem.
