picto casts are way easier than melee uptime

Eh depends on the person. Some people struggle with moving diagonally into a boss to dodge something while melee, some struggle with slide casting. Game is super easy to get constant uptime in normal content, melees are especially easy nowadays cus of the big target boxes, if this was hw or sb hit boxes id agree with you.
