Game Messages, Away Status, Offline Status, LS messages.

Looking back to Final Fantasy XI there will always be so much that I miss from that game, however I'm happy to see that the POL never became part of logging into Final Fantasy XIV. Someone may have covered this topic in the past on this forum however, the one thing I do miss from POL is the ability to have in game messages, away status, and offline status. There were never really many times had to use these, but I found them to be very useful when one needed to have some down time and craft or do something on their own. for example when you are just getting tell bombed or hiding from the server and don't want everyone online to notice you lol. Basically was the "Do not disturb sign" or pointing out that you were really AFK. (Yes I know there is "away" status in game now, however it doesn't work much like FFXI's "away" did.) In game messages was nice as well, could discus important info between offline members when you play tag online and can't seem to both log in at the same time due to work, school, family. Another very important factor was actually having LS messages display when LS mates logged in. I'm going to additionally add in the fact that The FFXI LS system had so much better control for the officers and leader, than it does here on FFXIV. Here one can't kick offline members that have left game, and can't leave messages for LS to see on game. So the focus at the moment, is as it should be, 2.0. Here is to hoping these changes are added/made in FFXIV 2.0!

Every linkshell has a free forum you can use on the Lodestone that helps if you need to let anyone know anything when you/they are offline.

It's not the best solution but it is there.
