    [MCH] Overheat damage bonus

It is often something that gets overlooked because it only truly affects the job between lvl30 and 35, namely Hypercharge unlocked at lvl30 and Heat Blast at lvl35.

Well Hypercharge has that funky little effect that we often forget, and that adds +20 potency to every single target weaponskill used under it, which is maybe some kind of leftover from SB's overheat design (that buffed damage output by 20%).

Either way, outside of that specific level range (30-35), this side effects serves literally no purpose that I can see beyond giving you 20 consolation potency if you press the wrong button (aka anything else than Heat Blast). So those 20 potency could literally be baked into the global potency of Heat Blast and Blazing Shot and change literally nothing except for simplifying the Hypercharge tooltip (like it already works for ACB).

Is there a reason for it that I can't see?

I'd love to have overheat damage bonus shenanigans back in some way that actually matter on what you choose to use inside, but I honestly know they'll never bring back that side of the job.

I agree, it's weird, but it's not really impactful, the reverse would've been way worse. We get reassemble but its best candidate is Clean shot until you get its first real partner later on at lv58.
This is an artifact from the rework where little attention was put in the acquiring or the abilities.

I believe there's 2 reasons for that, the first is that new MCHs starts at lv30 and would have a gauge that serves no purpose at all.
The second is probably for POTD where you don't get screwed at lv30.

Fun fact, Stormblood's MCH at lower lever was even more questionable as you had absolutely no control over the heat gauge until you acquired Heat blast.
