God this. So much this. They pissed me off a little at first, but in a good way. It's nice when a boss fight feels threatening, even if it is just learning curve to a degree.
I really can't feel bad for melee given how easy you all had it for EW. Positioning is supposed to be one of the difficulties you have to deal with in exchange for having high damage and no castbar.that dungeon fucking blows, and it's all because of the first boss. as a melee if you get touched once its just over. feels so fucking bad being bound for like 3 seconds and not being able to attack for like 8, and on top of that those little add guys will dive for you even when you think you dodged them
To be fair, that boss sucks on casters too. Rest of the dungeons have been better than anything EW offered, but that particular boss is dreadfulGod this. So much this. Oh God don't I know it. I'm doing them as Black Mage. Even with that though, I think melee have it worse on the first boss. When I was doing the first boss the second time I found hovering a quarter of the way off the edge was reasonably good placement to avoid the mobs and get to do rotation unmolested for a few globals. That's not really an option for melee.
One life hack for that boss--the add's hitbox is really small. If you go between them as soon as they move you should be fine.
