There's a Mayan calendar reflecting another timeline after their cycle of that timeline...their calendars are just cycles and periods. When the end of an era is determined they make a new calendar cycle.

Yay someone else who understands the Mayan calendar! And I didn't really think of that end of an era for eorzea and for the world too
