DF Queues popping while in cutscenes...

I shouldn't be forced to rush through a cutscene, or cancel it, just to avoid getting a strike for missing a cutscene. I also should not be expected to put my progression through the MSQ on hold just to do my daily roulettes.

I'm not going to claim I have a solution, but this needs to be fixed. This isn't 2014, this shouldn't still be a problem.

If I'm not mistaken, accepting the queue mid cutscene (and you get teleported to said duty) will make it so when you return you have to restart the cutscene you were in.
I can swear that I've had to re-watch a few this way.
So if this is the case, don't skip the cutscene the next time a queue pops midway.

The bad answer you don’t want is, don’t queue for duty finder while doing story quests. The game even gives you warnings for longer cutscenes. But even short quest dialogue scenes can take awhile if you’re slow at reading. I tend to avoid doing any quests while queuing. I know it sucks as dps right now but it’s the only answer I know. The game has no way to tell if you’re in a short or long cutscene or what you’re doing at all for that matter, like being mid-craft, so it can’t just hold your spot until you’re done.

Yep this is true. You can just play the cutscene again and only lose out on a little progress. (Most of the time it also doesn't take long to just fast-click yourself through the dialogue you've already read/heard until you reach the point where the queue popped.)

I'll try this. I think I tried this once a long time ago and it didn't restart the cutscene. Maybe that was a glitch or I'm just senile. But I'll give this a shot.

It certainly works, I was in queue for frontlines prior to the daily reset yesterday and it popped while I was in the middle of a cutscene - after my match it took me back outside to the step just before I triggered the cutscene and replayed it entirely from the beginning.

I would just avoid changing class from the you've queued up as if possible should you plan to watch the cutscenes since you won't be able to change classes during a cutscene, and I imagine you wouldn't want to miss what's currently happening.

It will always let you restart the cutscene if the cutscene doesn't finish. If you hit escape and abort the cutscene, then yeah you have to go to the inn to watch it again.

As long as you are the same job you queued as, you shouldn't have any problem if the duty finder pops up.

And just in case people are harping on "why are you in the duty finder during a cutscene", some raid queues can be anywhere from 2 minutes to 2 hours depending on the role and time of day. So it's not a reasonable thing to say "then don't queue" if you know the queue is going to take a while. It's usually more of a problem when you are doing crafting. If you're doing crafting, you can't change the job back during the cutscene to accept the duty finder pop. But there aren't too many times where you will see a crafting cutscene to begin with, and they're usually nowhere near as long as MSQ ones.

The main issue is that you can't change gear sets while in a cutscene. So if you're doing anything on any other class, you're forced to skip the scene, or take the penalty.
I'd say there are a few options the devs can choose to fix this.
    1) Make the commence button change your gear set during the loading screen to the one you had active when queueing. (or if you weren't using a gear set for some reason, just equip any gear set with that class's weapon. Otherwise, just equip the weapon)
    2) Let us join the duty no matter the class, but don't open the circle until everyone is the right active class. (and maybe flash a warning on screen that you need to be X class to proceed. do it within a minute, or you're kicked and get a penalty)
3, probably the simplest) Add an Un-start option to the cutscene skip dialogue box. That way, you can just back out to before the cutscene started, the same way as if you joined the duty, or closed the game client.

How we've gotten to this point and still it can't let us exit a cutscene without being forced to skip is beyond me.
I can get technical difficulties and overhead making it difficult to remember what everyone had equip when they queued for anything, but you'd think the solution there would to simply not allow for the destruction/changing of a gearsets while in a queue.

Seriously, just let us exit a cutscene early is it that hard? If we can skip how is canceling really any different?

This was implemented a few years ago that’s probably why you remember the days we were forced to skip CS when duty popped.
